Everybody loves Star Wars! Everybody love LEGOs! Why not put them together? For a long time this has been done in the form of kits you can buy at Target, but up until now they haven't forayed into the video game world. Is this game a success or a big flop!

The first thing I review is gameplay. In LEGO Star Wars you can play as any of the famous star wars characters, from Anakin Skywalker to Jar-Jar Binks (who you can kill!) However many characters there are, they are limited to only a few general types. There are the ones that can grapple, the ones that can jump, ones that activate special switches, ones that jump high, and the Jedi. This may seem like a lot, but you only ever need a few at a time. This game was definitely made for co-op, because the AI are stupid. They sometimes walk into walls, get stuck around corners, or walk off cliffs. Sometimes your human partner will do the same...

Control-wise, this game is a cookie-cutter platformer. You basically only move and jump, with the occasional use of the force (which is VERY limited!) Platform challenges are dull, repetitive, and frustrating! You'd better turn up the brightness on your screen, because sometimes you can't even see the platform you are supposed to be jumping on.

The graphics in this game are sub-par. I can understand LEGOs can only look so good, but the textures are bland and environments are nothing to brag about. It is cool to see ships fall apart with all the little LEGO bits, however. Everything is decently animated, but you will be to annoyed by the weak platforming to notice.

John William's soundtrack plays in the background, as with other Star Wars games, and gets very old after a while. There are also sub-par sound effects that you will hear OVER and OVER again! Dismissible...

Just rent this game, because it's not worth your money. Frustration is all this game has to offer, but if you like that then go ahead and buy this!
