"Get This Game Commander! Go! Go! Go!"

Battalion Wars is a very fun but slightly difficult Real Time Strategy/Third Person Shooter game. You control a battalion that changes throughout the game, which you command while shooting up the enemies yourself.

Gameplay 8/10

There are two reasons I didn't give this a 10/10. One, it's not multiplayer, two, some levels are really difficult. Other than those two things, this game is perfect. You take the part as the commander of a battalion of loyal troops. You can switch from troop to troop anytime during the level to put them under your direct control. You control one unit directly third person shooter style, everyone else you can command to do things, such as attack an enemy unit, follow you, or guard an area. The units you can be vary greatly from Mortars and Flame Veterans, to Tanks and Bombers. It can be slightly odd to command your units at first, because you use the c-stick to do it, but it soon becomes second nature. There are 20 mandatory missions, and 4 bonus missions.

Sounds 8/10

This game doesn't have a lot of background music, but that's fine, because you wouldn't be able to hear it anyway. There are explosions, gunfire, bombs, yells, and radio transmissions all going on at the same time. It makes a really cool effect.

Graphics 8/10

The graphics are great, combining great detailed graphics with a slightly caroonish look. Not the best I've ever seen, but pretty darn good. Everything is well detailed if you bother to stop and look at your units or trees.

Replaybility 8/10

There are 24 missions in all to play, 4 of them you have to unlock by getting a good average score on all the levels, so you'll want to replay the levels over and over to boost your Ranking on a level. You're graded on each level, you can either get a S(The Best), an A, a B, or a C. Striving to get all S's or all 100 percents will make you want to play the levels again. I like to play levels over again using new strategies every time. With 24 missions to choose from, it has great replay value.

Overall 8/10

Battalion Wars is a great game. It's definately unique with it's odd style of gameplay. It's a pick up and play game, so you can play whatever level you want no problem. It will have you playing for awhile.

Buy or Rent

Buy, definately. You can't get the full experieince with a rent. So go to a store and get this right now. Your battalion will take care of anyone trying to stop you.
