"It's time for the future to be perfect"

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect is the third game in the TimeSplitters series. Along with easy controls and a good plot this TimeSplitters seems to be the best.

Graphics: (9/10) The graphics in the game are that of any FPS on the gamecube, 3D and the player has a first person view.. The game made such an improvement from TimeSplitters 2. Now it actually feels realistic and looks rather good too. TimeSplitters 2 did look good but this game just TimeSplitters 2 seem like a game on another console. The graphics are smooth and not really blotchy. Rarely in multiplayer you will get some lag but it does happen. Overall the graphics have improved much from its predecessor.

Story: (8/10) The player starts the game off as Cortez, the main character of the TimeSplitter games, crashing into the war torn earth. Cortez, in the earlier games, stole the time crystals from the TimeSplitters in a last attempt to stop the war between the TimeSplitters and Humans. The player will now use the time crystals to travel back and forth between time to destroy the crystals and stop the war from ever happening. Along the way Cortez visits many unique places. You will go from the early 1900s England to 2200 in the future fighting robots. In the process you obtain many weapons that will help you along the way to defeat you enemies, like a shotgun, flamethrower, and a futuristic sniper. Throughout the story you get help from sidekicks, although annoying they can be helpful. Overall the story has picked up from where it left off and is overall entertaining.

Sound: (6/10) The sound in the game is rather good except it can get old. Each weapon has a unique sound to it too help distinguish it from the other weapons. For example, when you are playing one of the many different modes in multiplayer and you hear the song for the level, you may think well after playing many multiplayer matches that song is really boring or old. The music at first though is good. Most of the time though you may want to play with the music turned off.

Replay Value: (10/10) This is where the game excels at. Over the course of the game you can pick up a total of 150 characters, which is more than plentiful. Multiplayer is just amazing with all the levels and modes. When you add in the fact that there is bots and you can have up to 10, the possibilities are endless. Not only that but there is a challenge mode mode where you can do weird mission type things to earn medals. Plus the leagues in arcade mode add more depth to the game. The single player can get repetitive at times but just get a friend over and try co-op mode. Co-op is really fun and allows other people to get to know the story while you still get to play the game. Co-op takes the second player and sticks him/her with the sidekick character of Cortez. The last and best thing is the Mapmaker. Think about it, creating your own maps. This game has so many features and the opportunities are endless.

Gameplay: (9/10) This game is close but not perfect. My friends and I have played this game a lot and like it. Sometimes we will do just us against every bot or free-for-alls. The controls are easy to learn and master. Basically you will use the analog stick to move and the C-Stick to aim. Some of the other buttons are used for shooting, reloading, ducking, and melee attacks. Also the game lets the player choose an aim sensitivity, which really helps the player to adjust to the game. Everything is fast paced. When your character dies in multiplayer you can respawn immediately and get back into the action. The AI bots have definitely improved from TimeSplitters 2. Now they will actually shot more times and be aggressive about it. They overall act like a hunter hunting his prey, no mercy! The difficulty can be adjusted for the AI bots so if they are too hard then you can change it to match your needs. The single player is not really too hard but the later difficulties can get a little challenging at times. The arcade challenges are fun and can keep people playing them for hours. In one you can drive a remote controlled cat; this has to be one of the weirdest things on the game. The leagues also give the player an alternative to multiplayer bots because each has its own rules to abide by. The Mapmaker is also really easy to understand and use. In the mapmaker you can create a multiplayer map with a capacity of 8 people. The scenery can be changed and pickups can be placed on the map. Weapons and starting points of players are able to be put anywhere. Also you can add some objects in to make the map more flavorful. Another thing, mapmaker allows you to make your own story maps. What that means is that you can place certain enemies and try and get to an objective. The game overall has been a great experience while playing it.

Buy or Rent: Definitely a buy. This game can give a player endless hours of play time while still keeping it fresh and new. Renting would just give you enough time to like the game and experiment with it.

Overall: 9/10
