Spartan: Total Warrior
Review by Glutted
"See you on the battlefield"
There was a Popular series of Total Warrior games on the PC. In 2005, they put Spartan: Total Warrior on the real consoles. You will play as a guy, whose name actually is Spartan. You just go around killing people until you are dead.
Storyline: 8/10
They actually had this game have the same plot as the Spartan wars had in real life. You are a Spartan warrior defending your land, and determined to end the Roman Empire. The plot is simple, and they tried to make it look more complicated by adding in a bunch of important characters and sub-quests, but I did not really fall for that.
This game's plot really teaches you to see things from other people's perspectives. In your history class, they made it seem like the Romans were good, and the Spartans evil, but this game makes it the complete opposite. Neither Empire was bad, they were both just ancient Empires fighting for what they thought was right, fighting for the place they grew up in. Neither was right or wrong, they just had different perspectives.

Sound/Music: 8/10
Voice acting is O.K. Music is nice
Gameplay: 8/10
You are a Spartan soldier. You will use swords, axes, and bows to take out the enemies. The controls are perfect, and the button configuration is as good as it gets. At the end of each level, you can upgrade your magic, strength, and health capacities. That adds replay value. You may also replay previous levels you already completed.
There are tons of enemies and allies on the screen. You have to complete simple missions. The thing I don't like about it is that all the missions have the same general idea. The gameplay repeats itself. Nevertheless, you will find slaying Romans enough fun.
Overall: 8/10
Spartan: Total Warrior is fun for what it is: a simple game, with big battles and lots of fighting. This game definitely would be worth the rent if you like the hack em slash em games. It is actually very entertaining to take on the hordes of enemies. A great game for you people who like action and fighting games.
