Major League Baseball 2K6

"Intellectual side the only upside to MLB 2K6"

I waited for months for this game to come out, and I get a crappy game with only one good part to it. The graphics sucked, the gameplay was sloppy, the music annoying, and the presentation not good at all.

Graphics: 2/10
The only reason this gets a two is because the faces and jerseys look half decent. The pitching motion, the swinging motion, the ball, everything else was terrible. I played a few games, where the arm goes at half speed and the ball looks like little league speed, and it'll say 100 miles an hour. Not much else to say.

Gameplay: 4/10
The swing stick was a nice addition, as well as the breaking point pitch and pay off pitching system, but it lagged at times and was really annoying because you'd swing and five seconds later the bat would go through the zone. The running feature is weird because you have to continually push a button to make the player go full speed, as if he doesnt already??

Presentation: 3/10
John Miller, Joe Morgan, and Jeanie Zulasko have some interesting things to say, but they say it over and over again and also at irrelevant times. Extremely repetitive.

Replayability: 10/10
Its a sports game, you can play seasons on end without it getting any worse... but it starts out pretty bad. Some new features make it even more replayable, but read up on the new features in the next paragraph and see if you think its worth it at all.

Features: 5/10
There are some new features to the game, including World Baseball Classic, GM Career, and Inside Edge. Inside edge gives you basically the same scouting report you'd get for free in any of the other games, GM Career is the exact same thing as Season mode, you just have some objectives you must complete, and the World Baseball Classic is decent, but once again, bad gameplay, graphics and presentation.

This game does not deserve to be on shelves at all. If you like baseball, you're better off getting NCAA MVP Baseball game, or getting MLB 06 for X-Box and PS2. Worst forty bucks I ever spent.
