"AH! It's the Cubscout Beast!"

CUBIVORE: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

The world was full of wilderness until the colorless beasts came, and it's up to you to clime up the food chain, mutate into new beasts to defeat the Killer Cubivore to bring the wilderness back to the land!

GRAPHICS___7/10
One of the main reasons this game is so unique is its graphics. Sure they're probably the least detailed graphics of any Game Cube game (and possible worse than the N64), but they suit the game perfectly. The games graphics are also unique in that almost everything in this game is made with a cube or square base making itself its own quirky world. The major downside of the graphics is the colors, which are dull making many levels look similar and deciphering some enemies is difficult.

SOUND______ 4/10
Much like the graphics the music and noises in this game are fairly low quality. The music is decent but it's only one instrument music, like a peaceful piano tune with a basic guitar beat. The music for the bosses really gets annoying after long battles, and the music after you get through a level is equally annoying. The music does fit the games style very well, but it's very repetitive at times.

GAME PLAY__9/10
The game play of this game is fantastic, the story line is total non-sense, but the funny comments made by your character and the fun addicting levels are awesome. The battle system is simple, unique, and easy to use. Even though the battle system only uses L to lock on and the A button for attack, it still involves a lot of strategy. The boss battles are always fun, and sometimes rather challenging. The game overall is pretty easy except for a few points in the game, but the game is always fun.

CONTROLS___9/10
The controls in this game are very simple and easy to follow. If the controls are weird at first you'll get used to them in a short amount of time. Some of the things you can do in the game aren't really strait forward, but when the time comes for you to use these techniques the game will explain them for you. The only problem I found with the controls is the view. It's mostly based off of the N64 C button view changing system. When using these controls with the C stick it's sometimes hard to get to the view you want.

REPLAY______6/10
The first time you play the game its great, the second time is pretty good, then the third, well you probably won't play a third or wont for very long. Yes, the game is very fun, but going through the same things over again and not seeing something new like you did every level on the first time isn't that fun. On the second time through you're unlikely to see anything new because the game lacks secret places or beasts you can find that you didn't find the first time through.

OVERALL____7/10
This game is a great overall game, and because of its rarity there's almost no way you're going rent it. I would buy it anyway so you can brag to other people about having a rare game. I've seen it at a store before, but it was there for only a day, your best bet is over the Internet if you want it.
