Alien Hominid

Alien Hominid is a very fun, original game with a lot of style. This game will suck up a good amount of your time, and it's fairly cheap. Awesome!

Alien Hominid is the tragic story of an Alien who lands on Earth and decides to kick some ass... or something. The story isn't important. This game has awesome gameplay with a good amount of challenge. You can run and shoot, but wait, there's more! This game mixes up the gameplay pretty well with vehicles, item upgrades, and snazzy moves like rolling, throwing FBI agents, biting off heads and so on. It also has some destructible environments, which is all the rage with today's youth. The game has Co-op, which is always fun in a 2D shooter, especially since you can lift and throw your comrade. The bosses are also pretty nifty, ranging from radio-active pudding monsters to giant Soviet robots wielding a hammer and sickle to *gasp!* a fellow Alien Hominid on steroids!

Alien Hominid has a wonderful presentation. The graphics are both unique and beautiful. The cartoon style is used well and really fits this game. The music fits the game well, and is quite catchy (especially the PDA Games song).

The game is enough fun to play through multiple times, but there's plenty to do once you beat the game. There are silly hats to collect, and a slew of mini-games. Two of the mini-games in particular, Super Soviet Missile Mastar and PDA Games are very, very good. How good? SSMM is so awesome I bought the shirt, and PDA Games is even better than the main game.

Super Soviet Missile Mastar is a parody of the Russians during the Cold War in which you must navigate your atomic bomb safely past planes, helicopters and birds to destroy the capitalist pigs in America. It's simple enough to have been an Atari 2600 game, but if nothing else you will laugh as the Russian General does a little dance and announces that America has been "PWNED!"

PDA Games is pure bliss. There are over 200 levels of head exploding action. You run around a single screen racking up points, killing FBI agents to open the exit door. The game may seem simple, but with four player awesomeness and a cool level creator, you can easily spend more time on this than AH, and have more fun.

Normally a review would point out a game's flaws, but Alien Hominid doesn't have any! If there was one I didn't catch, surely the gameplay makes up for it.

Alien Hominid is pure fun. It is a total blast to play and will supply your life and the lives of your friends with meaning. Pick it up post haste.
