Yu-Gi-Oh! The Falsebound Kingdom

"My EYES ..... the horrible game blinds me."
Have you ever waited to play a game for so long, then when you finally played it. It wasn't what you expected. Welcome to Yugioh! The Falsebound Kingdom. One of the most boring and one of the most disappointing games I have ever played. When you play a Yugioh game, you expect fun card battles and hard strategies to be played. No, not in this game. This game is more like move your monsters over the ugly background and fight other monsters. Only for the other monsters to run away and flee. UGH! Most annoying.
Yugioh tried to abandon the card games in this one, instead they would try a RPG instead. Unfortunately this game wasn't fun at all. Each teammate gets to build their team of three monsters. A monster has attack, defense, speed, HP, special attacks, and how many times it can attack in one battle (Which is really annoying, because I don't see why we can't just defeat the monster in one sitting. When you run out of times to attack the enemies run away and you get to chase the monster over and over again and fight it until it is defeated. That gets annoying really soon) Monsters can also go in a type like dragon, spell caster, and other ones I don't want to name. When you're fighting other monster you can attack, defend, special attack, item, or you can just wait. You win a battle by getting more points. You get more points if you hit more monster. It gets really frustrating when you run out of attacks and the monster just runs away and you don't get any exp. Unless you want to chase the monster and attack it even more and then it runs away and then you chase it and attack etc etc. Basically it's just a chasing game where you chase the monsters until you kill them. Which gets frustrating really soon. You also do missions where you have to different things like save a town or defeat all the monsters or defeat the boss. To order your people you click on them and move them with the cursor. Once you finish that you have to wait until they walk all the way there. This takes almost forever to go there. You might as well go take a shower while this is happening. This gets boring way too fast. Once you run into a monster you have to defeat them. But you probably won't kill them with the amount of moves you get. So they'll run away and you'll have to chase them all over again until they're finally defeated.
The cut scenes aren't good at all. There isn't a movie, it's more like a slideshow of pictures, but what's even worse is there's no voice acting. So you get a slide show of pictures with a whole bunch of text to read. You can't skip these so you'll have to mash the A button for like ten minutes to finish the cut scene. Story telling is really boring and makes you really sleepy and tired. Yugioh has a cartoon and a manga, why don't you make look like that. Yugioh has no same graphics as the manga or the cartoon. Except for the characters and the monsters. The world map is really plain and boring. Grass looks really ugly. (Like green rotten cheese)
The songs you hear are just like an average RPG game. Nothing is incredible or fantastic or makes you wow when you hear it. But they do get boring once you hear them for the 30-th time. Sound effects are just recycled like some of the monsters use the same sound effects even though they are from different attacks and from different monster. I don't see why they couldn't put in voice acting instead of having us read the boring text that takes like ten minutes to read just because it's so long and drawn out.
There are two story modes, but I don't see why you would want to play it over again. Just for another plain and bland story. And the battles are just to drawn out with the chasing each other makes you really tired and sleepy.
Overall: 2.3
This game isn't fun at all, it doesn't require any thinking. The hardest thing in this game is to try not to fall asleep, because everything goes to slow (Like the monster moving, they move so SLOW) And you push the same button over again just to attack the monsters. I wouldn't buy this game at all or rent it. Good thing my cousin bought this and let me borrow it for free. Unless this game sounds super interesting to you. Which shouldn't appeal to that many people. You should at least try a rental first before using your hard earned cash.
