"A good game, with some faults."

Okay, how to start. The Timesplitters series is one of my favorite FPS Series's. In my view, the game is underrated. Many of the game sites like the Timesplitters Series, but they found the game to be very generic and a stripped down version of goldeneye.

I haven't played the First Timesplitters(TS from now on), but I played TS2 and it was great. It really did reminded me of goldeneye in ways, especially the music for the first story mode level, Siberia. And speaking of music, the music in TS2 was excellent. And there were plenty of modes in the game. TS2's story mode was fun, however, the difficulty is too high in my view, it's sort of near impossible. The mapmaker was fun for awhile, though the size of the map and space were limited. And the Arcade leagues, and Challenges were fun, with a mix of easy, medium, and hard.

And now, about 3 years later, Timesplitters Future Perfect is released and I ended up buying it for my birthday and still have the game for almost a year in a half. It was a great game when I bought and still is. It's just as good as TS2, in that TS3 is better than TS2 in ways, but TS3 does have some problems though. On to the catagories:

Story: Okay, the story in this game is rather good. Maybe not mind blowing, but it's good and it attempts to be humorous. Unlike the Story mode in TS2, TS3 is the first TS game to actually have a story to it. And this time, you'll play Cortez the whole time. I'm not good at story telling, but Cortez travels back in time to retrieve the time crystal and prevent the splitters from ever appearing in the first place. Also, as you play the story mode, certain missions have you seeing yourself in the future and the past. In other words, you may end up helping yourself at times. And that's all I'll say for the story, because I'm not good at Story Telling.
Score: 7-10

Gameplay: 7/10- Although, TS3 is not as fast-paced as TS2(because the pace options are gone), it still manages to feel face-paced than other shooter games. The story mode is a bit different than the story mode in TS2, as TS3 is now more linear. There are 13 missions in the game, which isn't a bad amount, but the story mode is fairly short, and you could complete it in 6 hours or so for the medium difficulty. The difficulty has fairly decreased, which I think is better, because TS2 was so hard and near impossible. Though, if you play TS3 on hard, then it may take more time.

As for the Arcade Modes, Arcade and League are all here. Unfortunately, in Arcade League, there aren't as many challenges as they were in TS2. Probably because all the 15 arcade levels in TS3, are unlocked from the start, and all you can unlock are characters(speaking of which, there are a total of 150, and they are very unique), cheats, and 2 weapons. Still, most are pretty fun, but I wish there were more arcade challenges.

In Arcade Mode, there about 13 or 14 modes to play in, and it's basically a mode for 1-4 players. You have your standard Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Elimination, and then some unique modes like Capture the Bag, Vampire, Virus, Monkey Assistant and Thief. Pratically all the modes are worth playing, and are very fun. Though, the modes that have been removed, were Flame Tag, Leech, and Regeneration. The 15 maps in Arcade are very unique, like Disco. There are mix of large maps, medium sized maps, and small maps. And most of the options are here too. TS3 is nearly customizable. You can even change the music and the sound options are nearly customizable!

And mapmaker has greatly improved. There are no blue and red connectors like there were in TS2, and you more space as well as Tiles, items. You can also make Story and Assault maps. There are five Tilesets to choose from, and there are unique. Though, you can only have up to 8 people in a mapmaker.

Graphics: 8/10- The graphics improved over TS2 and it looks great. The game looks more detailed, but a few spots that are blocky. The framerate mostly keeps up, and at times, it can become laggy, but not so much. The problems I had were that TS3 has the tendency to freeze, but so far in my experience, it only freeze when playing a mapmaker match, possibly if a map is too big, but ONLY a Tendency, not all the time. Overall, the graphics get the job done.

Sound: 7/10- The sound is good, but not as good as in TS2, well in terms of Music. The music in TS2 was great, but TS3 has some catchy music, but most are nothing special. The story mode music seems to focuse on a little more orchestrated music than Techno. Not a bad thing though. Some music such as The Russian Connection, Movie Suite Sneak Bad Guys, is pretty good. The Techno music is slightly better, but doesn't compare to TS2. Disco makes up though. The sound affects and the voices get the job done. Overall, the sound is good.

Value: 9/10- You will be playing this game for a long time. While it's a generic FPS, there are many features in the game that make it worthwhile. The multiplayer is the highlight of this game. The mapmaker and the acrade modes will keep you playing this game for a long while.

Overall, TS3 is a solid game , with a few problems. The game has the tendency to freeze thanks to a glitch in the sound department. The music you couldn't choose in this game, is compressed in the game, and because of heavy compression, the GC has to work extra hard to process everything, and thus, it tends to lock up/freeze, but only in mapmaker so far. But buy this game. It should be at a low price right now. It's worth it, You won't regret it!

Score: 7.7/10(B)
