NHL 06
Review by tails4eva2
"Yet another dull NHL experience..."
My brother (who is a giant hockey fan) insisted on buying this game. I told him, that he would be better off buying DK: Jungle Beat, but he insisted on buying this crappy game. But, that being said, it's better than NHL 05...
Gameplay: 4/10
Pretty dull, it's also unrealistic, I mean toronto beating Ottawa in the Playoffs?!? Ya right, Toronto can't even make it to the playoffs. If you are good, you win, and when you win, you win nothing. That's right, you read this right, NO UNLOCKABLES. You can't even win anything in a gallery. But, you can create yourself, and have him beat your made up friends. No big accomplishment there, however, your nerdy friends probably don't even know the rules of hockey.
Graphics: 7/10
A BIG improvement, you can actually SEE where your player has skated, but other than the arenas, the characters, and very... blocky.
Multiplayer: Your choice/10
Do you like hockey? I do, but still don't like this game, the multiplayer IS better than the single player, in the sense that there's no point, and it's just for fun. I recommend if you do buy this game, that you play it for the multiplyer, since you an't win anything in single player. And am making this one your choice because it depends on how good your friends are.
Replay Value: 2/10
If you don't like it the first time, why would you want to play it again? Well, if it's a good game with a franchise like Sonic, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or even ratchet and Clank, or Halo, chances are that you'll play it again, so I'm giving this a 2.
Total: 3/10
If you REALLY like hockey, rent it, if you sort of like hockey, don't rent it, if you don't, kill it with fire and holy water, or throw it in the pile with the other crappy NHL games, and walk away. That's my suggestion to you.
