Review by GForce

"Pure. Gaming. Bliss."

This is a review for Gauntlet Dark Legacy on the Nintendo Gamecube. It is a sequel to Gauntlet Legends on the N64. There is also a Gauntlet Legends on Dreamcast, and (thank you to Goomba King for this information) Gauntlet 1 and 2 on the NES. Now, enough legal crap, lets git it on!

Sound10/10

Crystal clear sounds. The moan of dieing zombies, the taunt of bosses, even some funny quirks from your characters. (Jester after eating fruit: Down the hatch!) They did great on this one.

Music10/10

Wow. Niiice music. They did great, the music can really add to the environment and feel of the level. Creepy music in a haunted graveyard...everything. Some of this is enough to give me the chills! Of course, I'm a little scardey-cat.

Storyline10/10

Not your average storyline. Far from it. An interesting twist on the situation. Its not your average 'Demon raised from hell. Kill him.' It is much more interesting. A young dark mage, Garm, is Sumner's younger brother. Sumner is the ruler of the land, and everyone loves him. Of course, Garm gets jealous and raises a demon prince while Sumner is away and...well, you'll find out.

Graphics10/10

The graphics, I will say, r0x0rz j00r b0x0rz. There, I said it. Every last thing has new detail now. Glowing magic potions to a pebble in the walkway. But the real graphic godness comes from the cinemas. They're just...amazing.

Gameplay10/10

This takes the cake. Even if you've never played a Hack 'n' Slash, you are going to love this. 16 different characters to choose from! 16! Each one with their own special attributes, so you can pick the one that tickles your pickle. There are so many different powerups you can collect to enhance your character, and you raise levels as you fight. Also, you must collect crystals to unlock new levels. Oh, this reminds me. There are 8 worlds, with about 5 different parts. That makes about 40 levels, including boss battles. And the bosses too. You have to collect a Legend Item to help you defeat them, but its not necessary. The bosses themselves, well, they're not easy. No, they're not.

Rent or Buy

Hack and Slashers, buy. Action lovers, buy. RPGers, buy. Basically everyone will love this game. Except those who have only played a sports game in their life...but there are very few of them. Now stop reading! Get this game, now!

This concludes the shortest review known to man.
