James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire
Review by ObWoB
"Happy it's a FPS, but...."
EA, yes, EA not Rare got this game. I do not know how or why but I do feel that Rare would have done a better job.
OK here we go...
Storyline: The storyline has no movie to follow, this is a good and a bad thing. If it were based upon a movie, it might be a bit smoother. Overall however, it is good.
Graphics: The graphics are very well done. They are not phenomenal, but are defenitly up to par.
Sound: The sound is alright, but the music is not. Only using bond music makes it very limiting. This differs much from PD, which had so much music, it was sick. Yet it does not effect the game much.
Controls: Everyone is saying that the controls are horrible, but I dissagree. I use setup #3, this means you look around with the C-stick, and move with the D-stick. This is much like the 1.2 control in GE or PD, but with the C-stick, not the four C-buttons. The only problem with the setup, is the D-pad being the weapon changer. You get used to it and it is really alright, but you do have to take your hand off the D-stick, thus stopping your movement.
Gameplay: The missions are very well done, and the driving, and sniper/stealth missions are a breath of fresh air.
Multiplayer: The multiplayer overall is good, but has quite a few flaws that hold it back. The flaws consist of: small levels (not a large flaw), not being able to save your player or scenerio, and not getting continuous player stats. These do bring the game down. Yet with different modes, such as escort (where you have to either protect or kill an official), add much to the gameplay. If you can get a couple of friends over, you will have loads of fun!!!
Replay: The singleplayer is pretty short, but the missions are fun to play over and over, and the multiplayer will keep this game going.
Sidenote: A few things. First, there is no blood in this game, this is not such a drawback, but it would be much better. I am happy I got this game, but I know that the next FPS out, most likely will blow 007 out of the water.
Storyline: 8.5
Graphics: 9
Sound: 8.5
Controls: 9.5
Gameplay: 9
Multiplayer: 8.5
Replay: 9
Overall: 8
I know you are all saying how can he give this game an 8 if he gave all 9's and 8.5's. This is because the game is done well, but it feels as if it lacks something, it is not as good as it could have been. Nevertheless, it is a good game, and a fun FPS.
