"Extreme Addiction!!"

I have finally gotten this game... and after a bit of playing I must say, I am very impressed.

The previous Gauntlet games got boring after the first few levels of gameplay, and had bad replay value since once you have played one level, you have played them all. This game, however, sports a wide variety of enemies, classes, and characters that you can be. Thanks to the fact that you always have something to shoot for (Every ten levels you ''upgrade'' your character), you do not get tired of playing since it is almost every gamer's dream of seeing and finding everything you can in a game. Add the multi-player (Up to four people!!), and you'll be set for a long time in the den with a bunch of friends playing on into the night.

You have selections of anything from a fighter to a mage to a jester, which all these characters are unique in their own way. This means of course you'll want to try them all. It is one of those games where once you start playing, you do not stop until you truly have to. Extremely addicting and very fun, it is (I think) worth more than what you pay for.

The graphics of this game are great, and I would expect nothing less from the Gamecube. The non-stop fighting and mass numbers of enemies makes me wonder how the frame rate stays alive so. They did a good job in the planning and making of this game. The sound also goes along very well with the game; it doesn't become repetitive or bothersome like some music tends to. The controls are easy enough to master in the beginning, which does not make somebody tired of trying to swing their sword or cast a spell as they try to dodge arrows from the enemy.

I strongly recommend purchasing this game... it would keep you busy for single and multi player gaming for quite a long time. It sort of tends to be similar to the Diablo and Baldur's Gate series type games, and for somebody who knows those, this might give you an idea of the gameplay. Yet it is different. Rent it and you will find out. It is fast paced enough that you won't get tired of playing or bored trying to level up, but there is enough to do to keep you going for a long time.
