NBA 2K2

"Great for your GCN collection, great for NBA fans"
With the NBA playoffs in the works right now, I just had to get a basketball game. I was sick of playing it myself constantly. (5 hours a day)
It was either NBA Courtside or this, and of course it was this, thus writing this review. People at this site told me to get this and plus it was only around 30 bucks, 20 cheaper than Courtside. There are only a few flaws to this game.
Graphics: 7
The courts look sweet. Nice lighting effects too, the downside is the people. Phil Jackson looks like a stick and same with Shaq, and they are all pixelated. I hope they do a better job on that in 2K3.
Play Control: 10
Like usual, games take a while to get used to. There are a lot of buttons to get down, but once you do, you will have an awsome time. You can post up, call plays, dunk, shoot, pass, turbo, and call up pass icons for finding that open player for the jump shot.
Game Design: 9
There are so many basketball games now, it is hard to tell the difference. Well, this game is cool because there are so many modes. You can play franchise, playoffs, quickplay, season, and more. Street is pretty dang fun too. You can have 2 on 2 up to 5 on 5 in basically any famous street court.
The rosters are up to date and you can trade players and cut players. You can see all the stats when playing and of all the other teams. I also like the feature that pops up the scores just like on TV.
The downside of this game is that it takes 46 blocks to save a franchise, season, and others. If you want it all, you have to get one of those 3rd party cards.
Satisfaction: 10
Any basketball sports fan will come back for more. 82 games plus playoffs mean it will be in you cube for a while and it is really fun with 3 of your friends. I don't see why you would pick up this game if you weren't a b ball fan, cause it is made for fans alone.
Sound: 3
Sound is annoying. The music just isn't there, and the announcers ae just pathetic. I was up by about 19 one time with 30 seconds left in the game and they start talking about how I can't afford to make any mistakes. THE GAME WAS OVER! Change this Sega, please.
Pros
- Lots of modes
- Cheap
- Play as your favorite team
- You are in total control of everything
cons
- Takes up a crap load of memory
- Characters look bad
- Sound sucks
FINAL SCORE:

Play Control: 10
Game Design: 9
Satisfaction: 10

OVERALL: 8.9, 9/10
Rent or buy? Big fan must buy. Very fun and cheap. If you just want a sports game to play a little bit, rent it, you will never regret renting it.
