"A good way to kill some time."

This being my first review, I guess I had better review my first traditional fighting game as well. Bloody Roar:PF, like all games, can be broken down into several categories.

Graphics 10/10: Outstanding, next to Rouge Leader and Resident Evil, I would have to say that these graphics are some of the best I have ever seen. However, graphics do not make a game, but simply enhance the experience.

Story 5/10: I'm afraid that the story was barely mantioned anywhere throughout the game, but I will give it a 5 because after performing a little research I found the plot to be somewhat intriguing, but no game should require a player to go out of his way for the plot.

Sound/Music 8/10: Both the sound and the music can be described in one word: generic. While not horrible, they simply don't manage to stand out in any way either, but this score is not terribly important.

Gameplay 8/10: The core of any game, Bloody Roar features some good, action-packed, fast-paced fighting, with alot of knocking around and animal transformations. But because of its fast pace, there is little room for depth in the fighting sytem, so there is a lot of button mashing. With the sidestep, you can add a little bit of strategy, but not much at all. Still, it is fun to play f you are not spoiled by a more refined fighter.

Length 7/10: Even though there are 4 unlockable characters, and a sizable cheat menu, it shouldn't take you very long to beat arcade mode enough times to attain these secrets. It all boils down to how much fun you get out of juggling your opponent in the air and then becoming a hyperbeast that proceeds to drain the remainder of your hapless opponent's life bar with a super special move.

Replayability 6/10: You will probably not play trough the game many more times than required to gain all of the secrets, but it all depends on how fun it is for you to beat arcade mode over again. However, there is always versus mode!

Buy? Rent? Steal? Burn? Whoseya tells all! If you plan on making this game the staple fighting game for your cube, I would say rent, but if you are simply looking for a fun way to kill an occaisional 20 minutes, this is a buy.

Final Score(not an average): Whoseyadaddy says an 8/10
