Cel Damage

Intro:
Guess who's back?Back again?REFanboy's back.Tell a friend.Alright, alright, enough with the Eminem paraphrasing already.Even though this is only my second review for GameFAQs,I'm pretty confident in my ability.Cel Damage is a demolition derby/racing/flag scramble game that takes a break from all the dark car combat games *cough* Twisted Metal *cough*...Anyway getting back to the subject matter,Cel Damage is a cel-shaded graphical game (like Jet Grind Radio and Jet Set Radio Future).Like I said this takes a much needed break from the dark combat games *shutters*...I was never the same after I played Twisted Metal:Black.Well,no use crying over spilt milk.Let's get to the review!Oh and before I forget,if this doesn't help, please read another review and read that guys two cents.
Gameplay:9
This is where Cel Damage really shines. Not only is it really fun,it really addicting!Trying to unlock all the extra characters by-OOPS,almost slipped too much out!No matter.I'll make do.Like in all car combat games, there's only one object:kill your opponent(s) swiftly and justly using any means necessary.By that I mean with chain guns, homing missiles, chainsaws, and baseball bats. And that's only the tip of the iceburg. But in Cel Damage the fun doesn't stop there.Another game beside Smack Attack (the demolition game),there's also Gate Rally. In this game you are placed in your selected level with two gates both sides of the battlefield. All you have to do is go through both of them 10 times (for a total of 20 times for both). That was the good news, here's the bad.The same rules apply from Smack Attack. That means you can be in the lead by 15 laps and still lose if you constantly get pounded by the opposition.Very frustrating! Finally, the last game of Cel Damage is..oh damn I forgot it.Anyway all you have to do is grab I think 4 flags and get them to a safe spot somewhere in the stage. And yes the same rules from the last two games apply to this game too.Sorry for the inconvenience.
Story:8
I had mixed feelings about this part. One half of me said not to count this since it seems so insignificant, but another half of me said to count it since their individual stories are so funny.I guess the other half won.A top rating show ironically named Cel Damage has its cast members duke it out over the air...live if I'm not mistaken. Not much of a story their but when you see how they got hired, you'll see why I gave such a crappy story a pretty good rating.
Audio:10
Taking into consideration both the sound and music, you'd see what I mean when you play Cel Damage. The hum of Dominique's Pink Caddy, the shredding noises of Sinder's Woodchipper, the robotic voice of Brian the Brain,or the steady pace of the Desert levels would make someone give it at least a 15.Unfortunetly I'm mature than that you poop-heads!Sorry,I don't know where that came from.
Video:10
As the name and suggest the game is entirely cel-shaded.That's right EVERYTHING.The characters, their cars the trees in the Swamp levels. And they're done in incredible detail, down to the shadows of sheep you can run over.
Replayability:10
Tons of replayability.Try beating all the games, levels, and with every character for a real challenge.
Buy Or Rent
Get off your lazy ass and buy the damn game.
