"A good game but not enough new"

So you wanna buy or rent Bloody Roar: Primal Fury? Hopefully this is going to help you decide.

Graphics: Nicely done, you flow very nicely from one move to another and the beast forms look REALLY cool. The backgrounds look ok for the most part but add little to the gameplay. The are simply there and other than look nice do nothing to change the game for the most part. Every once in a while you appear to go through the floor or another character. Over all they are quite good for this system.
Grade: 8

Control: No real complaints here. The controls are nicely done. I miss the one button beast drives but with the addition of the Hyper beast forms they could get a little cheap so I can see why they were taken out. Also many times I try to block but nothing happens. The gamecube proves to have a good controller for fighting games when you use this game as a model.
Grade: 9

Storyline: Well.........this is where the game suffers, the story here is so poor you cant quite figure out EXACTLY what new has happened. It is a fighting game and some of this is understandable but this game needed ALOT more work in this area.
Grade:4

Fun Factor: I like this game myself few things compare to beating up somebody with a ninja and suddenly turning into a Mole and slicing them to ribbons. VERY COOL, as far as fighting games go this one does quite well.
Grade: 9

Replayability: It is a fighting game and has replayability to that extent, it is more fun when you have friends over and going through and unlocking everything is nice and fun but I do think you need minigames or something in here someplace, and I cant seem to find anything. You are still going to get alot of use out of it just cause it is a fighting game.
Grade: 7

My bottom line: If you want a good fighting game with a bunch of cool characters and neet-o special moves then get this by all means. If you are looking for a deep soul searching experience with great meaning and moral values REMEMBER this is FIGHTING GAME I suggest you go elsewhere for your needs.

Rent or buy: Well that all depends, do you like fighting games? If you do BUY this game if not then you may need to rent it first, either way HAVE FUN.
