SSX Tricky

"Nice..."

I never did get to play the original SSX, but by the looks of this game, I missed out on something, because this game, simply, rocks. The modes of gameplay, the graphics, the sound, everything about it rocks. Each character has a funny attitude, too.

Graphics: 9/10
The graphics in this game were great, there was a nice smooth frame rate, not many times did I hit a bad slow-down, and the lighting effects were great. And how can you forget the snow? It is snow boarding! The snow looks great, unlike some games where the snow is so poorly designed that it's blocky. God, that sucks.

Story: 0/10
Simply put, there is no story, it's a snow boarding racing/trick game. There doesn't need to be a story, this game is great as it is! I'm not gonna put anything else here, because I don't need to!

Sound: 7/10
The sound is OK. The voice acting is pretty good, and the music is ok. Well, actually, I thought the theme song when you get your Tricky Meter up was...sweet! I'm not joking either, I even find myself humming it from time to time. Overall, the sound in this game is better than average.

Gameplay: 10/10
Sexy! Very sexy! This game is so fun! I don't know why, it just is! Maybe it's because the variety of each different character's personalities, or their variety of tricks! Hell, I think it's both. The tricks look cool and good, some even managed to make me laugh! Also, each character has quite a few ''Uber'' tricks, that make you say...''Wow, that kicked ass!'' The great thing is, there is about 3-4 Uber tricks per character, and that makes it a lot better.

Control: 8/10
The controls in this game were good, not overly annoying, not overly good, but they worked quite well for a snow boarding game, you won't find yourself cussing out the TV screen because of the controls.

Multi-player: I don't know
I'm pretty much an only child(my only sibling lives across the country), so I don't have much of an understanding of it. But I would be willing to bet it's tons of fun!

Rent or Buy
Buy, just do it. Although I only rented it, I would definitely buy this if I had the chance, there is a lot of replay value, as you can go through ''Career Mode'' and learn the pros and cons of every character.
