Mario Party 4

"The party is back and is better than ever!"

Nintendo has made another addition to the Mario Party series but don't fear! This is the best one they've made so far and if you liked the previous ones, you'll love this one. Just go buy it now and save yourself a few minutes of time by not reading the review.

Gameplay 10/10

This is what the Mario Party series is known for, the fourth is no exception. For those of you who have never played it before it goes like this: It's a giant board game. You hit a block with numbers on it to determine how many spaces you can move, each space can do different things. Some can give or take away coins/stars and some give them. Some spaces vary on the board and some do different things each time. You try to collect coins and stars and who ever has the most by the end wins. Each person will take one round and after each of the four have done there thing you play a game to win coins. This game is hard to explain and if you still don't get it, there is a tutorial in the game so don't worry. In four there is a mode where you can play any game you've unlocked and one where you play games you can't play in the normal party mode. There is story mode where you take any character and try to win on a board to get prizes, this is a one player only mode. As you can see there is a variety on this game that will keep you occupied for a very long time.

Story 5/10

There really is no story, a giant cube comes and a bunch of creatures come out and invite you to play games. That's about it. But either way, none of the Mario Party games really had stories and they really don't need them. So it really isn't a very big deal.

Graphics 8/10

There really isn't much in the way of eye candy in this game but it's your classic Nintendo Mario Graphics. It's all very smooth and I have yet to see it studder. Overall there really isn't anything wrong with them but there could have been more detail.

Replay 10/10

This is also what these games were made for, and this one delivers. The multiplayer fun in this game never ends. You'll never get tired of playing this game with your friends. They've also improved the single player mode, there is an entire mode devoted to games you can only play as a single player. The story mode (beat each board as each character to get prizes) takes a very long time to complete so that will keep you entertained for a while. With four difficulty settings, this game will keep you coming back time after time.

Overall 9/10

Another great addition (and personal favorite) to the Mario Party Series. This game is nearly perfect.

Rent or buy? BUY

Don't bother renting this game, you'll just be going out and buying it the next day anyway. It will save you the $4 renting fee. My final word BUY THIS GAME!!!
