Rayman Arena
Review by SuperCubeSunshine
"Fun game, but too short..."
I will tell you this first: I have never really been a Rayman fan, but I saw this game for 20 bucks at the store, and decided to make a purchase. I gotta tell you, this game is super fun when you first play, however, the game is too short to last that long. There are 12 arenas for battle, and 12 tracks for racing. Read on to see the pros and cons of the game...
GamePlay: 9/10
The controls are really easy to learn, A jumps, B shoots, Y is turbo, and L or R is lock-on. You will have no trouble learning these, I learned in a matter of minutes, and I didn't even read the manual first! This game is especially fun with 4 players!
Sound: 6/10
There are a few ''Woo-hoos'' from the characters and some OK music, but overall, it is pretty average. 6 out of 10.
Graphics: 8/10
There is very little slowdown in this game, and the water effects and lava effects are very nicely done. It looks pretty cool when you are swinging from vines and loops. Pretty good.
Replay Value: ?/10
Well, this really depends on if you have friends to play with or not. The game is very fun on 1 player until you reach 100%, but then it gets dull. But the fun continues for a very long time with 3 friends playing!
Story:1/10
Rayman and friends/enemies have all come together in Rayman world to have a competition. They must jump, fly, helicopter, and race through 24 arenas and racetracks and collect trophies from winning these competitions, hahaha! Some story, huh?
To but or to rent: Rent
I bought this game, but it was only 20 bucks. But it doesnt last long enough to be that fun after a few weeks or so. You should only buy if you have a lot of friends that like Rayman and Racing/Shooting games!
Final Words:
This game is fun, in fact, it was as good as Animal Crossing until I beat it, if they would've added more replay value somehow, I'm sure it would've gotten a 9 or 10 out of 10! You can unlock characters, special arenas, suits for your characters,a nd a special hidden mode at the end. Oh yeah, and in case your wondering, the cast of characters includes Rayman (duh!) Globox, the frog looking thing, Henchman, the robot with a skull on it, Dark Globox, the other froggy thing, Mr. Razorbeard, the bady guy, and some more secret characters that I wont tell...
