"Don't let the bad graphics fool you, this is a great game!"

Like I said in the title, don't let these terrible graphics fool you, this really is a great game. Aside from being an amazing game, it is one of the strangest games ever created. So let's get on with the review...

Gameplay 9/10

This is the strangest part of the game. To put it in a nutshell, eat everything in sight! The more you eat, the more powerful you become. You hit the L button to lock on to another cubivore and hit A to pounce on it. Hold the control stick down to tear off a piece of meat. Meat can be many different colors and depending on the color you tear off, you can mutate in to a stronger Cubivore or a weaker one. It's not always that easy to get the meat though, the enemies have a certain amount of life or as some people call it HP. You sometimes have to hit them multiple times to drain all of their HP and get the meat. Eating the meat is not the only way to get stronger, you can mate with females to become stronger. No, this isn't a graphic game and you don't see anything happen. It just says that you mated and produced offspring. You then take control of the offspring which are far more powerful than the original parents. You start out as a cube with one limb, as you mate, your offspring will have more limbs and be stronger. You have statistics like defense, attack, ect. and you can find items that raise each one. I know it may sound strange but the instruction manual and the game do a good job explaining it to you. It may also sound more complicated than fun but don't let that turn you away from the game. It's very fun.

Graphics 5/10

To be frank, they're terrible. It doesn't affect the game though and they really aren't supposed to be very good anyway. As the title may suggest, the entire landscape and creatures are composed of cubes. There are little cube ripples when you step in the water and event the sun and moon are cubes. (A game made of cubes on the Gamecube, go figure.) Other than that, everything is very smooth and it all runs very well. So just ignore the graphics if you choose to get the game.

Sound 8/10

Nothing very special here, the music is fine and fits the game. it can be intense, funny, dramatic, all when it needs to be. All the cubivores have a variety of sounds, growls, and whimpers which add a lot to the feel of the game.

Story 8/10

It's the classic story of survival of the fittest. Back in a time when the world was wild, there were many colorful animals inhabiting it. Then the colorless ones came. They took over, and all the wilderness was gone. You have been born. You want to be king of the Cubivores and eradicate all of the colorless ones.

Replay 9/10

This game never really ends as it is. You can keep conquering all the Cubivores as long as you want. This game will keep you entertained for a long time. You'll just want to keep playing for a very long while.

Rent or buy? RENT FIRST BEFORE BUYING!!!

Some people just will not like this game. It's just to strange for some. It's a great game and would be worth the money in my opinion. Most will love it. It's survival of the fittest, are you up for it?
