"The Call Of The Wild Was Never So Strong"

Well, it was 12/15/02. I hadn't gotten a new video game since september. Super Mario Sunshine and Animal Crossing were losing their luster. Then I heard about Cubivore. I reasearched it, drove out to gamestop, and got the last copy. And let me tell you people, it was like dipping into a warm bath.

Story (8/10)
Okay. Your a new born animal in the damp, dark animal kingdom. The wilderness has been drivin away. You decide to return the wilderness and become the king of cubivores! This will be no easy task, as you will have to earn power and strength, and conquer all thoes that stand in your way. You will mate and give offspring, mutate in hundreds of different ways, and work towards your destiny.

Gameplay (9/10)
This game, while with kinky gameplay, really helps you let out stress. You can rip the limbs from enemies and grow in strength. You explore beautiful worlds. Survival of the fittest. Not violent enough to join in with grand theft auto, but it's on the edge of the ballpark.

Sound/Music (5/10)
There wasn't much sound effects, besides the squealing of your enemies as you rip them to shreds, etc. The music was okay, but you really don't notice it. This is a big disadvantage for me, because I like music to get me into a certain mood.

Graphics (7/10)
The blocky-style is smooth and so are the backgrounds, but to me, it struck me as being on the same graphics level of animal crossing. You probably disagree, but, hey, this review is mine, right?

Controlls (8/10)
The controls are smooth, and easy to learn. They don't hurt your hands much, either. The only place you might stress your hands out is during a boss battle, but don't worry. After a while your hands go numb and you don't notice the pain! I'm kidding.

Secrets (1/10)
There are next to no secrets in this game, besides action replay codes and such. The creators of this game must have wanted there to be no tidbits to discover. This let me down, because I just love little secrets in a game. It doesn't weigh between if I like a game or not, it just adds to it.

Replay Value (4/10)
This game isn't very fun to replay, unless you wanna try to get a perfect score or something, or try and find glitches. For thoes who love it with all their heart, though, go for it!

Overall (9/10)
While this game didn't have much hype, it's fun, and last time I checked, thats what video games are about. Graphics and sound don't make a game, remember.

Buy Or Rent?
BUY. I would buy it, because if you get bored with it, you can return it and get your money back for a different game.
