Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
Review by boxcar182
"Perfect!"
Every year you can expect a new Tony Hawk. Sort of like Sports games, Tony Hawk update's itself every year with just enough to still feel fresh. Well this year they went above and beyond all expectations.
Game play- Well as stated above this game is amazing. The people at Activision have reworked pretty much the whole career mode. The career mode isn't in sessions anymore instead, it is free roaming and this time there is interaction between people. In order to do goals you must talk to people on the streets. They will give you things to do and you'll have a time limit to do it in. The worlds in the levels are extremely big now. Even the first level, it is bigger than the last level of THPS3. There are new moves two including the spine transfer which helps out a lot when you see all the goals that you have to do. Now too you don't have to complete every goal with every skater. Once you finish a goal with one skater you don't have to do it again. Thank god because with over 100+ goals it take forever. You start with 90 goals then you have a pro challenge which is geared toward something that each skater has done. Then there is a whole new set of goals for you to do.
Game play-10/10
Graphics- Graphics are extremely well done for a skateboarding game. I mean don't expect a resident evil style graphics. There are a lot of details though, more then THPS3 and the graphics are slightly improved but not extremely over worked.
Graphics-8/10
Sound- Excellent soundtrack including AC/DC, The offspring, and Run DMC. Also the sounds in the game are excellent and are always on cue.
Sound- 10/10
Controls- The gamecube controller is a saint. The controller seems like second nature the second you start the game. The controls are so tight that if you mess up there's no one to blame but yourself.
Controls- 10/10
Replayability- Extremely High considering that there are over 100+ goals and cash icons in every level to be found. Plus all the extras you can buy will keep you playing for months to come.
Replayability- 10/10
The ruling- Get this game. I don't care what you have to do get it. There are so many improvements over the third that it is like a completely new Tony Hawk.
Final Judgment-10/10
