Evolution Worlds

Review by Foxdude333

"A Review That NEEDS TO BE READ!!!"

Evolution Worlds.... What can I say about this sorta okay game? For one, this game should be labeled as a ''Puzzle RPG'' game. Ugh, I hate puzzles, but I love RPGs! Kind of contradictory, don't you think? Ah whatever. I'm not going to bias this on the type of game, but how well it is.
To the review!

Gameplay : 7/10
It's pretty great if you ask me. The only problem I have with the game play is the part of the controls and the lack of a story in the beginning. And the limited spaces in the inventory. BUT, those are little problems that you should be able to get used to. The reason why I said ''Puzzle RPG'' game in my introduction is because to get to the boss of a dungeon, you will need to go through several ''stories'' of mazes, each filled with items, booby traps, and bad guys. The mazes can and will be a bit tedious after a while.

Story : 8/10
The story? Ugh, I hate telling stories (because I stink at it), So I'll just copy it, straight from the instruction booklet :

Tens of thousands of years have passed since the demise of an ancient advanced civilization. The story is happening in 930. According to the Western calendar, the subsequent human civilization has finally evolved to the level of being able to build submarines and aircraft. A special group of people are able to use a Cyframe, one of the ancient tools excavated from the ruins of the ancient civilization. Known as the ''adventurers'' or ''Cyframe users,'' they get jobs from a research institute called the Society, and they use the Cyframes to explore the ruins.

As a boy living in Pannam Town, Mag Launcher dreams of becoming a first-class adventurer like his parents.

While the first-class Launcher family had produced generations of famous adventurers, the curent clan boasts no notable achievements, and has now arrived at the brink of ruin. Both of Mag's parents were lost on an adventure from which they never returned, so it fell upon young Mag to become head of the Launcher family. Many ancient ruins are found near Mag's home in Pannam Town, which is popular with adventurers who travel from other countries to excavate the ruins. Like the other adventurers, Mag has also spent his days in pursuit of adventures and the exploration of the ruins.

Linear, the little girl, can always be found at Mag's side while he explores ancient sites. When she first appeared on the Launcher family's doorstep three years ago, Linear carried a letter written by Mag's father. The letter said only '' Mag, protect this girl Linear.'' Under the watchful eye of his faithful butler Gre, Mag has become proficient in the use of the Cyframe and is now leaving on adventures with Linear...

Value : 7/10
Don't really know, as I have yet to finish the game! I've heard that there isn't anything to do after finishing the game, so the value is lowered a bit. I've also heard that the game is 35+ hours long.

Audio/Video : 7/10
This game could've been for the N64! Seriously! I mean, the graphics are better than the N64, but the game could've been made for the N64 before, but the company decided to make it for the Gamecube.

Replayability : 2/10
As I've said before, not really much replayablitity. Not good....

To buy or to rent? : 3/10
I should've rented this game before I bought it and opened it... There's no turning back for me! You should definitely rent before you buy, as peoples tastes and interests differ and vary.

Final Rating : 6/10
FINAL RATING : 5 2/3 out of a 10.
This game could and should've been a lot more than I expected. If you are buying the game, be sure to read the story and character bios before you begin the game, because in the game, you don't really get to see a beginning.
