Evolution Worlds

Review by Tails 64

"Great game! This review MUST be Read!!"

Evolution Worlds is one fun game! It has neat characters, nice voices, and pretty good graphics, and a great story.

Evolution Worlds is a port of a Dreamcast game, Evolution 2. This also includes some of the first as well. The graphics are Dreamcast quality, but their okay.

The game is laid out simply. It's an RPG with 5 party members. Mag Launcher is the star. His family is in debt and his father is missing. The mysterious Linear, who's past is in mystery. She arrived on a snowy day 3 years before this game began. Gre is a butler who looks after Mag. Chain is a girl that yells a lot, and who seems to like Mag. Pepper is obsessed with how she looks. Each character has their own good points and bad.

The dungeons make up most of the game. You run around trying to find items and stairs to progress you. There are no random battles. If you run up to a foe from behind, you get extra attacks, but they can do the same to you!

The battle system is deep. There are icons on the right that show the order that everyone will attack. This helps plan out strategies. The formation you are in is also a matter. In front, you deal out more damage to your evil foes, but take more as well. It is the opposite in the back. The characters have special skills to use against foes. A Talent is very useful, but can only be used once per dungeon.

Items and level raising play a large role. The items can be very useful if used correctly. You can revive downed partners, recover health, and more. Characters grow better as the game goes on. You can up-grade their Cyframe, teach them new skills, and more. It can be very useful if you learn the right moves.

The story is great. Linear appeared from no where with a note from Mag's father. The note said that he should keep care of her. Linear only talks to Mag. The story is mysterious and thickens as it goes on. The voices are dead on, too!

Many people say that this game is repetitive. Well, it's not. Each dungeon has a unique feel to it. Just because there is a lot of time spent in dungeons does not mean that it is repetitive.

Evolution Worlds is a fun game certainly worthy of purchase.
