Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance

"Good RPG for the Gamecube:"
Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance
Baldurs Gate was originally a PS2 game and it sold very well it is currently a greatest hit for PS2. This fall it came out for GCN and X-box with a few new things nothing worth buying it for if you have the PS2 version though.
Info:
Memory Blocks: 30
Players: 1-2 Simultaneously
Story:
Nothing Special. You come to the town and you get mugged by these thieves you go deep into the sewers to get your items back. Later on you defend the town of Baldurs Gate from evil monsters. Along the way you can do various side quests such as finding a medallion and getting a guy some alcohol.
Battle System:
Basically a diablo/gauntlet style battle system. You run around in an area slashing up enemies as you go, pretty basic. When you pass levels you can put points into skills/magic to do more damage and become better all around. You may play as three classes Dwarven Fighter, Human Archer or Elven Sorceress, each having completely different abilities and battle style.
Sound:
Basic sound with lots of sound effects weaved in. The background sound if often blocked out like any game with the sound effects. I don’t have stereo sound so I can’t rate it that hard but I say there’s nothing wrong or special about it.
Graphics:
The graphics are amazing! They are very clean and clear. They can be very dark though, if you’re having trouble with darkness go to the options and turn the brightness up. The people look practically real, and each item having a different appearance is awesome except when you buy expensive armor and it looks horrible on you. The graphics are awesome, nothing wrong with them.
Length:
The Game will at lease last you 30 hours. The quest isn’t terribly long but you can beat the game with all three characters and beat the hidden stuff and get the hidden character making it a pretty safe buy but don’t blame me if you buy it and don’t play it that much!
Multi Player:
Baldurs Game: Dark Alliance offers a two-player game. The quest is exactly the same; nothing is different. The game will be alot easier though and you won’t get as much items and gold (it becomes a race to the stuff). The only disadvantage of multi player is both players must be on the same screen at once because it isn’t split screen.
Overall:
Story: 7
Battle System: 8
Sound: 8
Graphics: 9
Length: 8
Multi Player: 8
Average: 8
Baldurs Gate is a great game to buy for the Gamecube if you’re looking for a hack and slash or RPG.
