Disney's Magical Mirror Starring Mickey Mouse
Review by Return of the viruS
"An OK game, I guess..."
Well. Mickey Mouse yadda yadda is basically a game where you are a hand guiding Mickey through a big mansion. Sound like fun? Oh it isn't! Maybe a little, some of the tricks are funny, but other than that, not a lot of good stuff here. Now to my review!
Gameplay - Most people consider this to be the most important aspect of any game. Unfortunately, this game has almost NONE. 90% percent of the ''gameplay'' is clicking on things, waiting for Mickey to walk somewhere and watching him do stuff. You want an interactive cartoon, this'll be your cup of tea. Otherwise, blech. The rest of the gameplay consists of mini-games where the extent of your influence is with the A button and the control stick. Sometimes only one of the two. A couple are fun, but no Mario Party caliber games here, folks. Probably the best one has you attacking barrels with fricking HADOKENS. Yes, Mickey has been training under Ryu. 5/10.
Story - Hmm... let me think. Ah yes, Mickey is sleeping when he has an out-of-body experience, sees a ghost beckon him into a mirror and jumps in. Then when he tries to leave, the mirror breaks and Mickey is forced to find the shards. At least that's the story on normal mode. Kid mode didn't have even that, he just jumped into a mirror for reasons unknown. Disney was never really one for presenting a good story. 3/10
Graphics - this is where the game gets good. The graphics are beautiful. They even included some old school Mickey toons! characters look great, and the mansion has that kind of Resident Evil minus the evil thing going on. you know, the move from one picture to another, except it's all 3-D as far as I can tell. Mickey Mouse is too good for picture backdrops! 10/10
Sound - Another great category. The music, well what there is of music, fits in great. I can't seem to remember if there was a BGM while just walking around, but all of the events have fitting tunes. Nothing catchy, but it's definitely not annoying or bad. I would have like some more voice from Mickey. Yeah he has a few lines, but most of the time they make it seem like we're supposed to read his mind. On the upside, for the voice acting that was there, it was good. 9/10
Replayability/Lastability - I'll be honest, if you make it through once, chances are you'll never even consider playing it again. I was forcing myself to finish it and get 100%, mostly because I never like to leave a game unfinished and at less than 100%. So if you're a completist gamer and you don't use a guide, I'd say you've got a solid 5 hours on your hands. If you just want to get to the end, 3 or less. 3/10
Final Score : 5/10 (not an average)
Final Recommendation - DO NOT buy this game unless you're a Disney hardcore, or a 3-6 year old. Give it a rent, but no more. I swear, if it weren't for the fact that it gives you a clear percentage, I would have never touched it again after I finished it.
