Outlaw Golf
Review by Doom Disasta
"Golf? Not Tiger Woods"
Finally Nintendo Gamecube receives a golf game for the golf fans to enjoy and play. This game features a variety of modes and multi player modes as well to enjoy. It is quite fun and looks visually bright with capturing moement. Also there are funny dialogue to read during the cutscenes that could make you laugh. But does this golf game live up to the hype as compared to the other sports game?
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics look smooth and fine. The outlaw characters have a nice visual cartoon looking faces and the some of the effects too. There are flying animals, ball going through the field, and water effects when the golf ball goes through the water. The only problem is the background might look kind of not up to the point and created with shabby visuals. But the rest looks fine and nicley created.
Sound: 6/10
Sound is very repetitive for this game. The commentary is annoying and the person keeps saying the same thing over and over again but you could turn it off completely. The voice acting are average and the music for the levels are terrible also. They could have added more to live it up to the hype.
Gameplay: 9/10
There are many modes to choose from. There is three 18 hole courses in the entire game. There are exhibition modes and others. For example, there is the tour mode that allows you to face other golfers in tournament levels and unlock things. Other modes include tutorial which gives you an idea and shows you how the game works. There are many more you can do but after you are done with everything, it starts to get boring. But it should keep you playing for a while until a next generation game arrives into your hands.
Controls 8/10:
Controls take time to get used to. It is kind of complicated for this kind of controller. You use the C-button to control the strength. The controls will be in your mind in a short amount of time.
Replay: 9/10
Has some replay value. Keep you playing for some time despite of the problems that are experienced in this game. It is a great game for fans of this type of genre to enjoy.
Buy or Rent:
Maybe rent if you are a little interested in these kind of golfing games and buy if you are a big one. Variety of things to play and explore through.
Overall:
Graphics: 8/10
Sound: 6/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Controls: 8/10
Replay: 9/10
