Resident Evil 2

"Beckoning of the T-Virus... AGAIN!!!!!"

Ah... Raccoon City. The Biggest tourist attraction for people who love zombies, mutants, crazy people, and of course puzzles that won't even let them in their hotel room. RE:2(Resident Evil 2 for morons...:]) takes place 2 months after the original incident in the Arklay Mountains at the Spencer Estate. STARS is no longer on the Spencer case. So everything eventually started to crumble in Raccoon City...

Graphics: 9/10

I dont think it was really necessary for this game to have better graphics... it really isn't needed and it would have taken at least 2 years for them to completely remake the graphics. They did take all of the blocky areas out and smoothed them all out. So the game still looks solid. This game, IMO, had the best graphics for the PSX and it is great here on the GC as well. I am happy they didn't completely remake the graphics... because then it wouldn't be RE:2... possibly the greatest RE game ever made.

Control: 10/10

If you say the controls are clunky I WILL hit you. The controls are not hard at all. They are made the way they are needed to be. If they were any different it would not be Resident Evil! The controls are flawless and when you get them down you can dodge any zombie or licker in the game!

Sound: 10/10

AHHHH!!! With that said and done I want you to think of the spookiest music scores you have ever heard... then multiply them by 10! The music is great and has you always wondering what is around the corner. The sound effects are equally awesome. Every sound really sounds real and not generated. With the explosions of heads to the zombies moaning it is all great! The voice acting is... well funny. :]

Story: 10/10

I wasn't afraid of the first Resident Evil because it took place in a big mansion in the woods. When that game came out I lived in a little house... in downtown charleston, WV(I ainta hick) So i didn't scare me much. But this game took place in the city! Where ALL of the people lived. The deadly T-Virus was released and all hell broke loose in Raccoon City. I was afraid to even take the trash out on Thursday nights! I loved being scared and this game did just that. You play as Leon Kennedy(A new Raccoon police cop) or Claire Redfield(Chris Redfield's younger sister) You two meet up but are quickly separated. You decided to take route to the police station and search for survivors, and eventually get out of Raccoon City This story is great... but I really dont want to ruin it for you.

Fear Factor/Cool Points: 10/10
Like I said this game scared the bejesus out of me. I have spent countless nights under the covers playing this game. This game is at 2nd on my list of all time favorites games(in front of Contra and behind Final Fantasy Tactics) There are alot of secrets to unlock and a whole host of different ways to play this game. Plus... the game is just too damn fun. With different stories to play I dont see why anyone would think this game is cool.

Rent or Buy...

I bought it, I love Resident Evil though. I suggest you do because this is a classic. The price is $40 bucks... but trust me it is worth it. While you are at it. Get Resident Evil 3 as well for your gamecube.
