"My first review on GameFAQs, on a very unquie game that features many battles, magic, allies, and a two-player system."

Intro: Not everyday you are attacked by massive armies of undead. You are the sons and daughters of legendary heroes called Mystics. You have sealed away Kang and his top servants, wife, and child, until one night when he called upon the power of the dragon star, which is only available once in a millennium. He gets the dragon orb, and uses it to revive all of his servants of mass destruction. Its your job to get the Dragon Orb before he turns it completely dark, and destroy Emperor Kang and his flunkies once and for all!
You are one of four heroes in the Gamecube version. Shiga, the main character, is the mystic of Wind. Lani, Shiga's life-long friend, is the mystic of Ice. Tai, the person who originally sealed Kang in his tower-prison, is the Mystic of Lightning. Finally, there is Naja, a girl who was reincarnated form a past life as a boy. She/he is the mystic of fire.

Difficulty: (I will break this apart because its hard to rate everything in difficulty with this game) 10/10 if you want to get everything, 4/10 for story, 7/10 for survival mode, 10/10 getting all 70-some runes, 2/10 2p-mode, and a 2/10 for bosses -_-'

Fun: I loved this game! I couldn't put it down, and I beat it with everyone except Lani, because of time limits for me to play... The 2-player mode is fun because you can team up with a friend to kill everything (a personal favorite) capture the dragon orb (capture the flag), flippin' switches (try to get more switches than everyone else), versus with battle royal, and many other features.

Storyline: Not much, depending on the person, your allies in a melee battle will change, your perspective will change, and people will say different things in cut-scenes.

Graphics: VERY good. Smooth, (unless you have a bazillion enemies on screen, then they all turn invisible.... 0.o) easy to see things (unless your darkness is waaaaaaaaayyyy down on your TV), the magic spells are cool, even if they get a little boring after awhile. The cut scenes are amazing! The gestures and looks are simply gorgeous!

Rushed? Slightly. In the PS version, you can get a few secret characters AND register online in a ranking thing if you do well in survival mode. I was very mad when I found out there were no secret characters in the GCN version! I totally wanted to play as Raja, son of the captain of the major defenses of Kokei. Of course he has a gold cape, cool sword, even better voice, but alas, NO. Oh well...

Voice/SFX: A little over-done sometimes and it doesn't always match the mouth movement like Emperor Kang and his top guard (his name isn't coming to me at this point). You get kind of annoyed with the battle noises, (unless your Naja, she swears when something bad happens ^^) but when your group gets surrounded or is retreating, they only have 2-3 phrases, and in the hard difficulty, you hear this a lot. The magic spells don't have much sound quality either. Just a zapping or occasional freezing sound... You have to admit, the voices are cool. Major Pro.

ESRB Rating: Teen. Violence and suggestive themes I think.

Replay Value: If you want a perfect character in storyline mode (at least with magic experience) you need to inherit your status (you can do that after you start a game with a character) at least 2-3 times. Now if you want perfect health and magic stats? Good luck on that one.... The multiplayer thing is fun (you get hidden runes if you play a lot.) It is also a good way to kill a few hours with a friend or two... or three... Murdering each other or massive zombie-armies is a fun way to relieve twitching in your button-mashing finger!

Control: Camera angle is up to par, its easy to learn stuff, although combos are boring, even when you add magic to them...

Thinking Skills: You need to think a little on which attack to use, enemies and how they attack, and what runes will do best in a situation. If your facing a fast boss, you don't want slow-magic, etc.

Boss Battles: Very easy. It's weird to fight just one-on-one in this game, but it's too easy. The best boss in the game, the Mist dragon, is one of the largest and coolest, but one of the easiest.

Overall: A very good game. Nice control, good graphics, voice acting, subtitles, easy bosses, (lol) two-player. This game you at least have to rent!

Link_2_21 Gives this game an 8 out of 10- A must rent!
