"Like the Two Towers? Got Gamecube? Get this."

Every since I watched Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring I was hooked on the movie and decided to get the game. I never got the chance to play FotR, but I did get my hands on The Two Towers for Gamecube. Now lets begin:

Graphics:
The graphics are beautiful. Smooth framerates and wonderful scenery grace the Two Towers. Character designs are accurate (except Gimli, but that's an exception). Orcs and urakhai are still big and ugly as ever. Everything runs smoothly.

Sound:
The sound effects go well with the attacks. Whether it is a sword slash or an arrow accelerating toward an orc, it stays true to the physics. The music consists of tracks and melodies from the movie. Still dazzling to the ears, but not worth listening to in your car, unless you are that big of a fan!

Story:
The story takes up where Fellowship of the Ring left off. In fact, the Two Towers includes scenes and stages from the first movie. If you watched the movie, then you know what happens. If you didn't, then its about destroying a ring of power that causes corruption in the world. It is up to you and others to destroy the ring. Of course, that is the most part of the first movie. In the Two Towers, the story prolongs with traveling through a forest to find someone and defending a stronghold from a bunch of orcs, urakhai, you name it! The story is marvelous.

Gameplay:
Now this is the core of every video game out there. The Two Towers is a hack and slash, in general. You can play as Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli. You can do quick attacks and fierce attacks. Fierce attacks break shields and are strong. Quick attacks are well quick and weak. Every character has some kind of ranged weapon. The action is fun and exciting, but gets redundant after a while. In battle, you receive ratings on how well you defeated an enemy. For example, you can get either fair, good, excellent, or perfect. The more get you get, the more experience points you get. You can gain levels and learn new techniques. When it comes to action, the Two Towers delivers a solid punch.

Overall, the Two Towers is a great game. If you are into the Lord of the Rings trilogy or if you are just looking for a solid action game, you should really check this game out.

Buy or Rent?

Buy: Only if you are a fan of the trilogy!...Or if you really love games for the sake of fighting.

Rent: If you just want your run-of-the-mill hack and slash game and because it's kind of short.
