Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO

Review by ihavenolife

"The greatest 2D fighting game of all time comes to the gamecube"

Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO has finally come!!!
Bring home the game and turn your Gamecube into an arcade.

The greatest fighting game has come...
You will love this game and never put it down.

Let's see here...

Story
Okay. A fighting tournament is being hosted. And you say that that's pretty lame. But hey it's a fighting game. What'd you expect? Anyhow, the major characters of the two famous Capcom and SNK are entering the tournament. There is more to the story but pretty short and if you want to know more, play the game. I'm not going to ruin it for you.

Gameplay
Best fighting game ever. Basically you just lower your enemy's life to 0 to win. But there are added extras like 6 different grooves to choose from which affect the way you perform supers and other moves like rolling or dodging. You can play from single matches, 3-on-3 matches, or ratio matches. In ratio matches, you are given 4 ratio points to distribute among your team. The ratio points improve your life and damage. Also, there is, of course, a 2-player mode in this game.

Controls
Okay. So, your a beginner and you don't even know how to do a hadouken. But luckily, in this game, there is a GC mode which lets you perform super and special moves just by moving the C-Stick. Cool, ain't it? Except you have to do all of your punches and kicks on only 2 buttons. That sucks. But if you choose the arcade mode, your punches and kicks are distributed on 6 buttons, but no more C-Stick cheating for you. ^_^ If you're lucky enough to find an arcade stick for the Gamecube...use it.

Graphics and Characters
The graphics are wonderfully stunning. Though some characters' sprites seriously need to be updated. Even though it is a 2D game, they add a 3D effect to the background which looks pretty nice. Now, the characters are all of your old pals back from Street Fighter, King of Fighters, and some other games you might not have known about. You'll enjoy the large number of characters (over 40).

Music
I have to say that the music at the menu selection screen is the most annoying music ever and for some reason, this game is louder than other video games. I always have to lower the volume before starting to play it. But...they have some great music which go great with the stages.

Overall, I have given this game a 9/10. One point deduction was for the missing online play which only the X-Box has. But you can still enjoy this game with your friends. This game is one of the good things in life. A very good thing in life. ^_^
