"The game is Bloody fun!"

Bloody Roar is one of the coolest fighting games out. The game is so unique and introduces great graphics and human fighters being able to transform into furious beasts. Bloody Roar Primal Fury is no exception; it introduces some of the best graphics for a 3D fighter and one of the coolest storylines.

Gameplay 8/10 Bloody Roar Primal Fury is so fun, you have 16 fighters to choose from and they all have a unique beast to represent them. Some are tigers, lions, and other exotic animals. The game has a lot of different modes to play in, for example you can just play classic arcade style when you just fight until you run out of credits (continues) and you go along with the story. You also have survival you try and survive as long as you can with your health meter. Not only this, but there is a secret character for you to unlock if you have the skills to do so. The game can get quite hard and that also makes it fun because it is never dull. The bliss of fighting and all sorts of moves and transforms it is just amazing.

Bloody Roar Primal Fury is quite difficult if you don’t know what you’re doing. This is the type of fighter where you need skill, you can just be a button masher, and you need to take time to learn the moves of the character you use. Trust me it wont be easy but its half the fun to master the character of your choice. The game has all types of different modes once you finish the game on hard, you can try survival and see how much skill you really have. It is hard to last for more then 10 fights with only one health meter.

Bloody Roar’s control is actually kind of difficult to learn, with all the different moves and all the buttons you need to press to pull of cool combos take time to learn. Maybe the reason for me is because I played a lot of Bloody Roar 3 on PS2 before I played this game and I was already using to them controls. None the less the game takes a while to get use to but it shouldn’t be that hard, in fact once you pick the character you like best, and you start to play with him or her you will soon find that you have the hang of it. The finishers are hard to pull of though because you need to use the joy stick and the “B” button but you need to time it and if you miss well then your finisher is gone. So all in all the control could have been simpler, but even as it is now, it is still pretty good.

The story to Bloody Roar PF is actually quite interesting and really good for a fighting game. The story is pretty much about a race of people called the Zoanthrope who have the power to transform into beasts and they are always in fights with humans because the two races don’t like each other. Then some doctors test on these Zoanthrope and people don’t like that, they are like an elite army, with all this chaos, they hold a tournament to see who is the ultimate Zoanthrope, this was to bring the two races together and show people how strong these Zoanthrope are.

Graphics and Sound 9/10 The game is beautiful graphics wise, all the characters have their unique design. Each character has a few different outfits to wear during battles and they also have there beast forms that look great. Like you can see the clothes ripped, the eyes turning red, and the facial expressions when transforming. All the moves are nice looking and come off clean, the big explosions and bright lights all look nice too. The big finishers and the huge explosions all look great when let off. The screen goes slow motion once you KO them, and you see the final move and the body actually moves with all the other parts. You never see a stiff jump, better explained like when a character jumps his or her arms move, not just their legs. That is great. Now the stages also are full and have a ton of colors. The back grounds are so nice it is like you are there, like the back ground forests or cliffs when you’re in the mountains. The trees move, you hear other animal sounds and you see birds fly by and stuff. The stages also break and you can knock your opponent out of the stage. When you fall down you see the boards crack and wood pieces fly or the water splashing when your body hits the ground. The game is so well done here no wonder why Gamers.com said “Bloody Roar: Primal Fury Looks Awesome on the Nintendo Gamecube” They did not lie, I can tell you that much.

The sound in Bloody Roar PF is also great, the only reason this section didn’t get a 10 is because the game music is a little off. Some levels the music is just great but in others it is kind of annoying, not many levels but some. For the most part the music is a dark type of techno if you will. Now as for moves landed on your opponents you can hear the thumps and your character let out an ‘Ugh’ when he kicks hard or punches with all she/he has. Also your opponent lets out some screams when you KO them and they don’t sound stupid either. The game has a lot of talking, when you win a battle the characters say something, this is cool, most of them are cool but some of the character the voice doesn’t fit well at all. The only complain I have is with Shenlong, his voice doesn’t go well with his character, but he is still really cool and the sound is still good.

Playtime/Replayability 8/10 Bloody Roar has decent length considering it is a fighter game and most fighting games aren’t long any way’s. The game has 16 characters so mastering all of them will take some time and with all the modes you will be having some fun for quite a while. I have had this game for a while now and I still play it a lot. The game is like “Oh my god” when you first play it but even after a while it is still like “This game is great”, so the game is pretty long when you play all the modes and master all the characters the game has to offer.

Bloody Roar has a lot of replay value because when you are bored and want to pass by sometime all you need to do is pop this game in a fight a couple battles. Plus when you play with some friends the game is even more fun. It never gets old beating your friends, and this is why the game is so good. It is great playing by yourself and great with your friends. After time you will find your self coming back to play this game, because the game it self is just so fun and you will see that when you play it for your self.

Final Word Bloody Roar Primal Fury is a solid fighting game, and worth the money you pay for it. The game has great graphics, great stages, lots of characters and different modes to test your skill and a great story, what’s not to like? Pick this game up now, you love fighting games? You’ll like this game, you new to fighting games? This would be a great game to start with; you’ll be playing it and having a lot of fun.
