Resident Evil 2

"Is it Still Good?"

Resident Evil 2 is a great game that by many is considered the best Resident Evil in the entire series. I would tend to agree with that but thats my opinion. The game offers many ways that would entice gamer to play through again to unlock secrets such as a Rocket Luancher, Gatling Gun, and many more. I'll break this review down into five sections Gameplay, Controls, Graphics, Sound, and Overall.

Gameplay
Everything is back, fixed camera angles, shooting zombies, and scary moments to freak the heck out of you. If you've ever played the Resident Evil Remake on Gamecube you will feel right at home with the formula this game provides. Also if your a new comer to the RE series the gameplay will not dissapoint. With a great story that will keep you addicted to the game. And there are many secrets to unlock by beating the game more than once, thus making RE2 have a strong replay value.

Controls
The controls are some of the best in the business in my opinion. With different control schemes you can set, you are free to create your own control scheme. Also the controls are not a problem you will find yourself forgeting that you have a controller in your hands becuase of the smoothness it provides.

Graphics
This is where I and many other RE fans got dissapointed. Unlike in Resident Evil Remake the graphics were not redone in the same way. This game is a straight port from the Playstation version with no enhancement done on the graphics. But the graphics are fairly good on Playstation terms.

Sound
This is where Resident Evil 2 will scare the heck out of you. Zombies moaning, Lickers screeching all set to a wonderful soundtrack that provides a scary and yet frieghtening feel. The guns sound like guns should. The sound in RE2 I feel is what makes the game so scary.

Overall
I find myself crawling back for another play through evrytime I complete this game. The sound, gameplay, and plot are what drives the story. You will find yourself jumping back when somehting you would not expect scares the heck out of you. The replay value is great if your like me you'll play again through again and again. This game never gets old to me. I gave Resident Evil 2 a 10/10 becuase I feel that it is a classic that ever RE fan should have in their house.
