Cubivore: Survival of the Fittest
Review by joltmasta1
"Too cube? or not too cube?"
Cubivore Survival of the Fittest is an underrated exclusive Game Cube game. Although not perfect it deserves a lot of respect. You play the role of an animal and hunt prey to make yourself stronger. Your main goal, however, is to do away with these colorless hunters that have been causing trouble. Each one carries a new power up for your animal.
Graphics (3/10)
The graphics is what shy's all the gamers away. The graphics look repulsive at first. I was a little fair towards my score because you can make your graphics better with a hundred mutations, but even that takes a little work. Even then the graphics are not that perfect. Overall the graphics are acceptable but not amazing.
Game Play (10/10)
Now this is great. Your moves must be very strategic and swift to survive. Not only does the color you choose for your animal determine your strategy but the form as well. You can slide like a snake or run like a bear. It all comes down to the fact that there is three different sections that determine what you want more to attribute the creature. That is why the game play gets a perfect score.
Sound (6/10)
The sound is ok. Each different animal has its own noise. A bear will roar, a pig will oink etc.. The music is a tad strange and is not catchy at all. At least be thank there is music. All the sound effects are properly placed which gave the sound a decent score.
Difficulty (8/10)
Not the hardest game I've played but if one you do not know what your doing then you will lose. Two, if you are not excellent at strategy based games then you will start to lose later on in the game. So plot out a plan because this game is meant for lots of thinking.
Replay Value (7/10)
If your very good at the game then you'll be all over this game for a long time. But, if you are only decent at the game then it will be painful to but the game back in the Game Cube.
Overall (6/10)
The game has its pros and cons. But there are more pros than there are cons. I would suggest buying this game if you can find it. If you are looking for a long game this is it. I assure you this game will be a very good piece to add to your good game collection.
