Jeremy McGrath Supercross World
Review by raized by coffee
"Why are all the Motocross games so bad!"
Let me start by saying, that this is probably the WORST game on Gamecube I've played, but from what I hear, Batman: Dark Tommorow is a game I don't want to poke with a 60-ft stick. Onward...
GRAPHICS: 2
This looks like the inside of a used toilet it's so bad! Aughhh!! It looks like the worst looking N64 game ever made. That's like Superman 64! The good parts were the bikes and characters, but the bike colors were repeated too much, so this field went down to a 2.
SOUND: 4
Now the soundtrack is what I'm talking about! Drowning Pool, Millencolin! Good job on the music Acclaim. Too bad everything else sounded like the fattest man alive farting. Blech! Good thing I don't have to experience this in real life!
GAMEPLAY: 2
Problematic. The trick controls are so unresponsive, you'll probably munch it from doing a Whip. The tricks are also not very variable. The good tricks are way to hard to do and are animated poorly, so you'll crash when you do a backflip, no matter what.
The tracks are designed decently actually. No comment here.
The AI bugs the crap out of me. It always catches up to me, no matter how far ahead I get. If this is what made you mad on MK64, then this will bug you too.
The Freestyle mode would've been a nice touch, if it wasn't FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE!!! God, I can't even get to 50,000 points because of the terrible design of the arenas and unresponsive control. You need like 150,000 points to win also, so it's as annoying as hell!!
This field is Hell on Wheels. I give this field a two only because of the nice track design. Not the freestyle arenas!!
REPLAY: 4
There are some tracks to unlock, and some other stuff, but that's it. Plus the unresponsive trick controls will scare you away. The single player grand prix might make you happy for about 45 minutes, but then it gets frustrating.
PROS
------
1. Decent tracks
2. Good soundtrack
CONS
------
1. ASS UGLY graphics
2. Unresponsive controls
3. Horrid freestyle mode
4. Everything else!
OVERALL: 3
Acclaim totally rushed through this game, or the testers just don't care. Come on!! The motocross genre is dying over here and this game makes it worse! Jeremy McGrath was obviously paid to say that paragraph in the booklet because I'm sure he noticed the big faults in this game too. Overall, a truckload of faults, terrible graphics, and bad trick system make this the worst motocross game ever designed by professionals. How embarrassing!
