"Enter The Matrix has you!"

Enter the Matrix is without a doubt, the best movie to game adaptation produced. It has everything from real sets, actor’s voices and even exclusive footage only seen in the game. What makes this game super special, though is that it is really another Matrix movie as the script was written by the Wachowski brothers and uses plots from the movies as well as having its own.

This game must be played to understand the whole of the Matrix so this is more or less the 4th movie in the series.

Also, what is the Matrix without Bullet Time? Well…maybe something down the lines of Superman who didn’t have Bullet Time but he could fly, stop and dodge bullets but who cares about him? We have Neo now!

GRAPHICS: 7/10
Ok, Ok, it’s been said that the graphics aren’t exactly what they should be but they are good nonetheless. Well above par. I will admit that games such as Eternal Darkness and Resident Evil can kick the crap out of ETM in terms of graphics. However, I still think they are good and are more then adequate for the job at hand.

SOUND: 10/10
This is where ETM is very good. Shiny (the makers of the game) had full access to everything including music and boy, did they take advantage of that. Throughout the game, you will hear familiar music and during certain times, the music becomes really captivating especially during the Agent levels.

All the actors contributed their voice talents to the game. Luckily, however, they are not just grunts but a full script. The main characters, Ghost and Niobe had to memorize a whole script for the game and they delivered capturing the true Matrix feel.

The game also has the whams and thwacks that we have all come to love in the Matrix movies.

CONTROLS: 6/10
I don’t really know what most people are talking about when they say the controls are horrible. I think they are great unless you are using a computer. Two buttons to attack. One for weapons and the other for Focus/Bullet Time. How easy is that?

REPLAYABLITY: 10/10
Yes, finally a good game which can be played again once beaten. Aside from having two characters to play as which will double your playing time, there are over 1000 moves to master, hidden secrets throughout the game and a hacking feature where you hack the matrix to access things which usually cannot be accessed in the game such as hidden levels and being able to talk to Trinity.

As well as that, there is a multiplayer mode which is accessed through hacking which is bad to say the least and if you are thinking about buying a second controller just to play multiplayer...don’t. Players can’t jump or do Bullet Time and characters have the same moves.

But that’s the only downside and won’t affect how much you will love the game.

For experienced gamers, this game can take between 10 and 20 hours and even more for casual gamers and newbies.

OVERALL: 33/40
Not a bad score for something which got bagged by people who hate the Matrix universe but for those who are like me or want to be like me and lets face it, who doesn’t, then this game will keep you going for at least a couple of months. This game was hyped a lot and is able to live up to it. Those who have the game, good on you. Those who don’t have it, what are you waiting for? GO BUY IT!
