X2: Wolverine's Revenge

"Not as good as Spiderman, but still a good game"

I am a huge X-Men fan and I thought I would pick this game up at my local game store. Well, lets just say X2: Wolverine's Revenge is not as good as Spiderman: The Movie game. I like it, but it sort of has some weak points in the game. Over all, I like the Spiderman Movie game better

Graphics: 6/10

The graphics look ok, but not to shabby. X2: Wolverine's Revenge just looks like a Gamecube with standard graphics, no real special effects. The cut scenes only make the characters faces seem more realistic, not anything else. The character designs are plain and just look like normal X-men characters.

Story: 9/10

X2: Wolverine's Revenge story has one hell of a storyline. Wolverine is taken to a facility named Weapon X, then injected with a virus that gives him only 48 hours to live. Throughout the game, Wolverine fights his way to discover his creators with injected him with the virus. Also, you see some familiar X-mean characters. Like Magneto, Sabbertooth and Xavier.

Gameplay: 10/10

The best part of the game in my opinion. You literally have lots of finishing moves to take out your enemies. You can punch, kick and use your claws to defeat them. Wolverine can use this cool ability which lets him sneak around without enemies noticing him, and even looking where mines are on the battle ground. You can jump also. If you see a chain fence, just use Wolverine's claws to rip right through it. One of the finishing moves is you lift an enemy above your head, then put your claws in and out through is body. But one thing is, you can't use any weapons like guns or grenades. Hey, its X-men though.

Sound: 7/10

Normal X-mean theme music, nothing to much really. The character's voices sound the same. Thats really it.

Replayability: 5/10

I really didn't feel like replaying this game after I got it. Sure, I just may want to play some levels, but not all of them. Mostly the bosses are a pain in the ass once you get to them. The replayability is probably the worst part of this game to my senses.

Buy or Rent?: Rent

If you are an X-men fanatic, buy this game. Or if you want to see if X2: Wolverine's Revenge is better than Spiderman, just rent it. I sorta feel like I wasted 40$ on buying this game, but its a good game still.
