Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut
Review by Cable51
"Faithful remake of SA + more makes great game"
In 1999, the Sega Dreamcast was released with a Sonic game that introduced a concept that would change Sonic games froever. This game was ''Sonic Adventure''. This game was a phenomenal game that put Sonic in his first game that was 3D (and didn't suck) and had a new element called ''Adventure Fields''. The Adventure Fields emphasized exploration to get more emblems which was also a new element that was introduced. In 2003, this game was re-released on the Nintendo Gamecube which is what I am going to review.
Graphics 8/10
The graphics are pretty good, although not up to par with games of the new ''Next-Gen'' generation, but still pretty good. However, the graphics can be a little glitchy at times and the frame-rate will slow down, but besides that, the graphics are pretty good.
Gameplay 10/10
The gameplay can be very addictive and although it is very simple, it is TONS of fun. Each character had their own playing style (But, I won't spoil it for those who have not played this game). You can go through the whole game with each character and their playing style. There are some very fun mini-games such as the snowboarding part on one of Sonic's missions. One thing that adds to this games gameplay is the Holy Grail for all old skool Sonic fans. The Game Gear games. There are 12 game gear games in all and they all add to this already great game's gameplay.
Sound 10/10
On this part, I am mostly scoring this games sound on its soundtrack because there is not much else to score for. This games soundtrack is awesome and people who like rock will love the songs that are played on this sometimes. There are some other kinds of songs but I don't really want to name them all because I'm lazy. Anyways, the music in this game is a big factor in a level's atmosphere.
Replayability 10/10
As I mentioned above, there are Game Gear games that are in this game and you have to earn them to get them and then you play them and that is a big chunk of this game's replayability factor. The other chunk of this game's replayability factor is the mission mode.
Overall 10/10
This great remake is worth the left over 40 dollars in your wallet. This game is great for new comers and veterans alike. This game is well rounded with its good graphics, gameplay, and sound.
