Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Review by Foxdude333
"In My Opinion, This Game Is A LOT Harder..."
...this Resident Evil game is a lot harder than all the other Resident Evil games before it... (This doesn't count 4, or Code Veronica, 'cause I haven't played those yet!)
In this game, thanks to Nemesis, I think I died somewhere around.... 8 times...
*sighs* maybe it's 'cause I suck at gaming... eh, who knows? Whatever, on with the review...
Gameplay : 9/10
At the beginning of the game, there's two choices... easy or hard... most people choose easy...
Yeah, so ... you get all these guns and bullets... in the item box.... you think... man, this is too easy, right? well... when Nemesis comes around... you'd be wishing for more bullets man! 'Cause he ain't fooling around! Most of the game is pretty self-explanatory... Oh yeah, one of the features is that you can choose your own path in the game. It's called ''Live Selection'' and you can choose where and what to do, when the time comes. It puts a new twist to the Resident Evil series.
Story : 8/10
Yeah, yeah... same old, same old... almost. You have to get out of an area alive (this time its Raccoon City) and the area is usually infested with zombies... This time around, there's this thing after you, called Nemesis, and every time you see him, it's a really good idea to run... The story somewhat changes due to the new feature ''Live Selection'' and it affects the ending you have.
Value : 8/10
Yeah, so what if it's a direct port? As long as you haven't played the game, it's still worth the money! If you've already played the game... don't even bother.
Audio/Video : 7/10
Loud when it needs to be, soft and eerie when need be. The explosions, the zombies moaning for your blood... it's all good. The video, however.... looks a lot like some Nintendo 64 graphics.
Or... in this case, improved Playstation graphics.
Replayability : 8/10
Good for a few times around. I mean, the Live Selections help make the replay value higher and longer, but... after that's all done and over with... the only thing left is getting the different costumes and such.
To buy or to rent? : 7/10
Don't buy unless it's on sale. I bought it at $34.99, and granted, it is still sorta expensive, but I don't think the price is going any lower until Code Veronica comes out... and that's gonna be for awhile.... Most Resident Evil games are good for summer rentals, 'cause they don't tend to last very long... but, if you're collecting the whole series on gamecube, you're gonna buy it anyways, so it don't matter!
Final Rating : 8/10
Dreamcast version is better than Gamecube version, which is sad, but it's the truth. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME AT REGULAR PRICE. And, if you're too poor to buy the 'Cube version, go and get either the Playstation version, or the Dreamcast versions used, which is probably around... $10-15, at most.
