"A decent game, especially multiplayer."

I rented this game initially. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed playing the mulitplayer game. So when i saw it for $20 I picked it up. For the price it's a great game. Single player is alright but what makes the game worth it is the mulitplayer. Think of it as a improved Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. I have to admit that I wouldn't spend over $25 for it though. You can pick between 4 different char. each with their own unique melee and missle attacks. You don't have to rely on your hunter's begining weapons only though, you also get to play with flamethrower's, machine guns, chainsaws, rocket launchers, and let's not forget everyone's favorite zombie bashing tool the shotgun. Special abilities called ''edges'' (also specific to certain hunters) allow you to heal yourself, freeze enemies, and imbue your melee wep. with holy fire (just to name a few). Character's learn these edges and improve their stats by gaining exp. which is gained by slaying the hordes of undead you encounter.

Graphics 7/10
The graphics represent the game well, but nothing to flashy. The Zombies dont' really look like zombies but who cares when you just blow most of there body parts off anyway. Game can be quite gory with zombie parts and blood flying (not that i mind that).

Sound 8/10 The sound effects are average. I like how they only play the music at certain points during the game. Gives it more of a creepy feel when the music just stops and there is silence. And even though the Zombie's don't look like zombies they sound pretty close. Chainsaw sound effect is dead on too.

Story 5/10 Evil spirits are released after the execution of a convict inside Ashcroft prison. Your hunters arrive to find out where the spirits are coming from and rectify the problem (i.e. fill zombies with lead). Pretty basic story. But it is a hack n' slash after all.

X-Factor 7/10 Each character is worth a look in single player so that's 4 times you can play it. There are also some unlockable extra's to make it worth your while. At some points the game gets very difficult but by changing your attack methods you can overcome these parts.

Overall. 7/10 If you like action/hack n' slash you'll probably like this game. The best part is the multiplayer so get 3 friends and get hacking!
