"Excellent extreme sports game"
-= Graphics =-
Although the graphics of AI aren't the best to date, they're probably the best of any extreme sports game. Characters, levels, and pretty much everything looks better than even the most recent Tony Hawk game.
-= Sound =-
The sound in this game is excellent. The sound effects are funny. Running into pedestrians causes them to curse at you. Also, the sounds made by riding/grinding over different types of materials are accurate and sound nice. Metal sounds like metal and wood sounds like wood. The soundtrack of the game is great. Most of the songs are actually pretty old. But the ones I knew were old favorites of mine, and the ones I didn't know are new favorites of mine. My only complaint is that there aren't enough songs. I think there's only like 10. Most Tony Hawk games have had 20-30. But they're all great songs and the sound is great in general.
-= Controls =-
It was difficult getting used to the fact that you can't merely hold the joystick and press a button to perform a trick, as in the TH games. You have to hold the joystick in the direction you want first and then press the button. But this only takes a little while to get used to. The controls are otherwise similar to TH. They're also decently sensetive and don't usually cause any problems.
-= Difficulty =-
AI is definately more difficult than the TH series. I can run through the game with one character in TH in like an hour. AI takes far longer. Also, each level, which is already Tony Hawk sized, has roughly 3 locked doors that lead to additional Tony Hawk sized levels. Making each level in AI amazingly huge. There's about 20-30 goals in each level, ranging greatly in difficulty. They start off incredibly simple and end up being near impossible. But all are fun.
- Replay Value =-
With each level being so huge, and there being hidden characters to unlock, the game has great replay value. Byt the time you're on the last level , you'll have forgotten the challenges from the first level. So when you pick a new character and begin again, it feels fresh. Also, there are hidden level goals that you can search around for. You can also build your own skate park. Like I said, great replay value.
-= Overall =-
One addition I like in the game is that you can at any point open a menu and pick a level goal and get a description of it and a ''fly-through'' video showing hints. It's really handy. I wish the game contained more songs though. And sometimes it seems like there's a few glitches. But other than that, this game rocks.
