Lost Kingdoms II

Review by Lord of Dragons

"Another Great Game From Activision"

Lost Kingdoms II: 9/10

Gameplay: 10/10
This is an incredible game. The controls are easy to learn, and it will bring hours of fun. They are the same as the controls from Lost Kingdoms, except instead of Z turning one of your cards into capture cards, it will make one (or more) of the cards in your hand more powerful, and if you Z-Power multiple cards, you can do combos! You can find a list of possible combos in one of the general FAQs.

Enemies: 10/10
With over 100 new enemies, you will be battling until you drop. There are two new elements that cards can be, plus the old fire, water, wood, and earth. You have to learn their weaknesses and use them or you will never get anywhere. The more you use one element, the stronger you will become with it. There is also a new type of card. In addition to the weapon and summon types, you will be able to transform into some creatures.

Bosses: 10/10
All of the minibosses and bosses are very fun. There are plenty of minibosses, as well as a boss at the end of each level. They are all challenging, but they will bite the dust pretty fast if you have the right cards.

Multiplayer: 5/10
I do not feel the multiplayer to be very fun, but you may like it. Unless you have a friend that plays a lot also, you will be spending almost all of your time in story mode.

Graphics: 10/10
The graphics are great! It runs smoothly and all the creatures look incredible.

Story: 7/10
It is a pretty basic story, but good nonetheless. It is not hard to follow at all, especially if you played Lost Kingdoms, but it could have been more in-depth.

Music: 10/10
What can I say? It just has awesome music!

Length: Long
There are over 225 cards now, and it takes a LONG time to get them all. There are other things to collect, like fairies, and a bunch of fun side quests. Some things only appear after you have beaten a level, so you will find yourself repeating stages several times, but finding new things each time.

Difficulty: Easy-Moderate
It is pretty easy if you want to just go through and beat the final boss. But if you want to collect all of the cards, good luck! You have to complete all of the side quests as well as taking a long time to get cards experience so they can transform into new cards, and collect all 100 fairies. Some of the bosses are pretty tough, but if you just keep trying, you will beat them eventually. The great part is, if you die, you can continue from where you are instead of going to where you last saved.

Replay Value: 9/10
Even after you have all the cards, it is still fun to revisit all the old levels and beat monsters to a pulp.

Rent or Buy: Buy
If you plan on collecting all of the cards, which I highly recommend you do, you should buy this game. If you rent it, you have to put in a LOT of hours if you even want to get to face the final boss.
