"It is better than its arcade counterpart due to smoother controls & the like but its still far from being truly great."

Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO, best version of CVS 2? Quite possibly (it was considerably better than its rather average-at-best version in the arcade and its slightly better than the PS2 version.) It is however not a HUGE improvement over its prodecessors and its still one of the weaker fighters availible for the GC. But its still a good game nevertheless. What gives this game some good quality you ask well then sit down and let me tell you.

The main reason why I like this version the best is that it has the smoothest control that goes quite considerably better than the PS2 and Arcade versions which makes the gameplay a bit better as well. Sure the control on the PS2 version wasn't bad and well the Arcade version wasn't TOO terrible but the GC version has the best. And like the other two it still has the nice selection of modes, characters while the graphics and music are still good as well. Whats also nice is that it occasionally shows a bit of a sense of humor (see Chun-Li vs. Mai Shiranui for a small example). Granted it'd be nice if they used more humor but at least its nicely existential here.

One other flaw it has that is still there alike the previous 2 versions is this, the mediocre and just simply generic win quotes. Sure there were a FEW remotely good ones such as Ken's ''My last name is Masters, that should give you a feeling on whom your up against loser!'' but most of them are WAY too lame and bland. Some may ask that WHY do I care at all about win quotes since they are just a small part of the game. Why do I actually have any semblance of a care of the quality of the win quotes in a fighting game you ask? Its really simple when you think of it, win quotes are the chance to utilize the characters personality well. And unfortunately the win quotes here make the characters awfully bland I KNOW that win quotes aren't the ''be all and end all'' of how likeable a character is but the quality of said character's win quotes can most certainly help. So its simply another fighting game with lame win quotes.

But despite its flaws ''Capcom Vs. SNK 2 EO'' is certainly a enjoyable game that would make a great rental while it might be a good buy for the more die-hard fans. Its obviously not up to ''Super Smash Bros. Melee'' yet its not even quite up to ''Bloody Roar Primal Fury'' yet. But its still a good decent little above-average fighting game nevertheless.

+ Improved over the Arcade version (and very marginally better than the PS2 version)
+ Controls are smoother and the gameplay is a bit better as well.
+ The Graphics & Music are nicely done
+ Great variety of characters & game modes
+ Nice occasional bits of humor
- Its not a absolutely HUGE improvement over the original
- The Gameplay is still awfully flawed
- The majority of the win quotes are awful
- It just didn't have enough humor
