Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour

"Awesome, extremely fun, long time appealing, but slightly repetitive."

Once again Nintendo Gamecube has offered another great multi-player game featuring everybody's favorite Nintendo Cast, featuring regulars like Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong Peach, Bowser and Yoshi and even some new obscure characters like Daisy, Birdo, Koopa, Diddy, and Waluigi. This is a great game that any Mario game lover or golf game lover should own.

GAMEPLAY: 10/10

This is what really makes the game. The game offers a new, and in my opinion, much better, swing system thats alot less annoying than the older one was. Also, the charcter system is way better in this game. In the last game, the difference between the charcters drives were way to signiifcant. Once you unlocked all the characters, you only played multiplayer with one or two characters. In this game, not only are the drive differences not that huge, but 12 instead of 4 characters are already unlocked. So you can pick your charcter on your favorite, not on how powerful they drive, like most of us did last time. So that is a major improvement.

SOUND: 9/10

It is really awesome. The music really makes the game more exciting and the sound effects are awesome. The golf swing really sounds like a real golf swing and the impact of the club to the ball is very well done. However, the music can get slightly annyoing.

GRAPHICS: 10/10

The graphics are amazingly well done. Much improved from the first one (obviosuly). The polygons are crisp and very well done. It makes Mario and the gang look real, yet still cartoony (which they are supposed to be) at the same time. The scenery is outstanding as well. The FMV intro really surprised me at how well the graphics were. The lighting effect is also very well, as well as weather condition effects. The framerate is also extremely well.

LASTING APPEAL: 9/10

There is plenty to do here. However at sometimes you may get bored with the game, but overall, it'll keep you busy at least untill school starts up again (which for me is September, I'm not sure when you start so that might not seem impressive).

OVERALL: 9/10

It's an extordinary game. But it is kinda repetitive from the last game. However thats not really a bad thing because it offers alot more new stuff to even that out.

RENT OR BUY

If you liked the last game, then you should probably buy.
