Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
Review by BlitzDDR
"Mario's back for some more Golfing action."
Overview:
Back in 1999, Nintendo and Camelot released a golf game, featuring your favorite Mario characters. It was very appealing to all, and it was a huge success. Now, Mario's back for some more golfing. This sequel has more play modes, better graphics, music, etc. If you don't want to read this whole review, just read this one line. GO BUY IT NOW! That basically sums up the game. It's one of the best games for the Gamecube available right now.
Graphics: The graphics are very nice, and does the game justice. It's not the best, but it's still very nice. The character models are smooth, and there are little details that catch your attention. 9.5/10
Controls: The controls are as easy as your can get for a golf game. Every control is right there on the game screen, and it's so simple to learn, a 7-year old could learn it. 10/10
Sound/Music: The sound and music are great! The music suits the game perfectly, and the sound effects are very cool. For instance, when the ball goes into the hole, it sounds exactly as it does in real life. 10/10
Gameplay: The gameplay is basically perfect. There are a lot of courses, a bunch of Mario characters, and a bunch more play modes. Some of the courses are Mario-themed, and the obstacles on them are very creative. There are over 10 play modes. Some of them are doubles (where you team up with a friend or a computer and takes turns hitting one ball), side games (Putting challenges, approach challenges, etc.), character match (Where you challenge a computer character to a 1-on-1 game), ring shot (You have to hit the ball through all the rings while still making it in par), and the classic tournament mode. There are also some new characters like Koopa and Birdo. 10/10
Replay Value: This is where the game truly shines. There are so many things to do in this game, like getting all the best badges, beating every character in the character match mode, and much, much more. If you get tired of playing by yourself, you can play with some friends. This game pretty much has infinite replay value. 10/10
Final Word: In conclusion, this game is virtually flawless, and it would make an excellent addition to any gamer's library. Even if you don't like golf, you should check it out, because This game has the ability to turn you into a golf lover. Why are you still reading this, anyway? Go to the store and get it!
