Legends of Wrestling II
Review by High ride36
"A great game that is much better than the first"
Legends of Wrestling 2 in theory is a game that many long time wrestling fans have dreamed about for a long time. It's a wrestling game that lets you take control of wrestlers from the past. The idea is great, but how well does Legends of Wrestling 2 pull it off? Read on to find out.
~Sound~
The sound in this game is quite good. All the Tracks are good but can get a little repetitive. The tracks are your typical Rock soundtrack and overall I would say it is very enjoyable, it fits the gameplay perfectly.
8/10
~Graphics~
The graphics in this game are great. All the wrestlers look perfect. The ring looks good, and everything has a lot of detail. The one complaint I have with the graphics is the way the Crowd looks. The Crowd in No Mercy for the Nintendo 64 looked better. It's really not that big of a problem though. The graphics aren't a lot improved from the first game however.
9/10
~Story mode~
The story mode in this game is great. Simply put it's great. You start out in one of 6 territories of your choice. Then from there you try to get over with the fans by having the most exciting matches possible. After you finish one territory you move onto another. After all of the territories you move onto the world. Very fun and long.
10/10
~Wrestler Selection~
The wrestler Selection in this game is great. You have greats like Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Ronny piper, Bret Hart, and Owen Hart. Then you have wrestlers like Sabu, Mil Mascaras, and Terry Funk. The selection is so much better than in Legends of Wrestling 1. There are over 50 wrestlers to choose from.
~gameplay~
Finally the most important part of a game the gameplay. The gameplay in this game is much improved from the first Legends of Wrestling. The game is so much faster. The game uses the ISP system or otherwise known as the Intermediate Start Position system. The system is very deep and complex. It is the same system used in the first Legends of Wrestling only sped up and much improved. It's very fun and it gives you the ability to reverse anything, even reversals.
10/10
~Match types~
There are a decent variety of match types in the game, but no where close to the amount found in the Smackdown series. You have the normal 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, and royal rumble in the game. Then you have you Cage, Ladder, 2 vs. 2 vs. 2 vs. 2, 3 way tag, 8 man tag, and 3 way dance. Sadly there is no handicap matches in the game however.
7/10
~Replayability~
With all the things to unlock in this game you will be playing it for a long time. Also playing with friends is a very fun experience. Also with multiple storyline in career mode you will find yourself picking up the control again and again to play through it. The replayability is one of the best parts of this game.
10/10
~conclusion~
This is a really fun game and a must buy for any wrestling fan. If you liked the first Legends of Wrestling you will love this game, and if your looking for a game with lots of replayability this game delivers there to.
9/10 a must buy for old school wrestling fans, Wrestling game fans, and at least a rent for everyone else.
