"Much better then RE0."

I have never played this game before and now that I finally had the chance I just picked it up for a 1-week rental today. Let me tell you this is a pretty cool game. Now on with my review...

Graphics
The graphics may not be up to today's standards today but they were really good for what they were back when this game was released. I still think it looks cool though. It is pretty gory too. Arms can get blown off and when legs blow off it is pretty sweet cause sometimes they just crawl with their hands after you. I thought it was cool when the heads were blown off too cause chunks fly everywhere, and they kind of walk around a bit more after their head is off, then they go to the ground with a thud. I think it is pretty cool how you can blow up explosive objects too which can add some good elements into the gameplay. I was pretty impressed on the FMV's too cause they were pretty good they might even be better then dino crisis 2's FMV sequences. The environments looks pretty sharp and clear too I am glad that capcom improved the graphics a bit.

Gameplay
I think this game has much better gameplay then RE0 has. You can blow up stuff, dodge, knock down zombies (you might be able to in RE0 but I can't remember) , and much more! Plus I like the characters alot more then I do in RE0. Plus the enemies are way cooler let me explain... there are many different kinds of zombies like police, more civilians, there is so many I can't even remember them all. One of the coolest enemies in the game is NEMESIS! He looks freaking scary and he picks you up by the throat and smacks you around the room. Or he might give you a good toss. He also stalks you throughout the whole game! This definetly adds to the scare factor of the game. Like when I first started the game I was constantly thinking when nemesis is going to show up, and I was pretty suprised when he actually showed up, and when I saw him I was like... wow he is big. He looks pretty freaky. I still have yet to beat the game but I expect many more cool things in the game to happen.

Sound
I really liked the sound in this game I wasn't too impressed with the zombie moans and a few other sound effects but I thought the voice acting and music were great! I found the moans and the blood curdling screams on the street were nice effects. I thought the chewing and eating from the zombies sounded good. Overall the sound was pretty cool.

Story
The story's are always good in RE games but this one is kind of the same as the other ones but nemesis adds alot to the story.

To rent or buy?

If you haven't played any of the previous versions then get this. But if you have I wouldn't buy it. I would only do it for nostalgia. Because you won't find anything new in this game that you wouldn't find in the other versions other then a sharper looking game.
