overview
I really love the SSX series and SSX3 is all the more reason to love it! with 20 Hidden characters and over 150 other unlockables you won't be able to put this game down!
Gameplay
You will pick it up and never put it down! you will spend countless hours trying to get the many unlockables and the elusive PLATINUM rating on the tracks! There is also a new RECOVER feature that allows you to get up faster from big wipeouts! This feature is extremely useful in race mode when you need to get up quick! BIG Challenges make this game much more interesting because it gives you a reason to keep playing after you've beaten it! BIG challenges Can range from collecting items, to getting a certain amount of in a short time! You can also customize your characters outfit more that the other SSX titles! Another great feature is the new gameplay modes there are:
Race-Classic race to the finish!
Slope Style-pretty much a fancy name for getting the most trick points.
Super Pipe-a REALLY BIG HALF PIPE! you can get some HUGE points here.
Big Air-on each Big Air course there are about 3 jumps that give you some of the biggest airtime in the game!
Another thing to mention here is the combo system. The combo system is simple but effective! When you land a trick you have about 2 seconds to do another one and get a combo bonus! Combo bonuses are a great way to earn extra points!
The one problem I have with this game is that the secret characters are only skins and they have no voiceover or any special abilities. This one flaw was enough to take SSX3 down a point.
sound
The first SSX game to feature music that is more than just beats! The DJ that plays the tunes is actually NOT ANNOYING! He actually is fun to listen to! The DJ gives you information about tracks, riders, and other things you may need to know. The sound really brings out the game to its fullest and to top it all off, it is THX sound.(WOO!)
Graphics
Great to say the least! The detail levels are AMAZING! When you grind a rail you see sparks under the board and the board actually bends slightly from the pressure! The character models look great too!
THE FINAL WORD!
Buy this game if you are a snowboarding game fan and if your not, BUY IT ANYWAY! Anybody can enjoy SSX3!
