Mystic Heroes
Review by PrimeNumber
"Great Graphics with enough to keep you playing."
Mystic Heroes is a game not for hardcore dynasty warrior fans but for the more casual hack'n'slash player. It contains four playable characters as well as many levels of play.
Graphics: The graphics are good without hair and arms sticking through bodies here and there. The characters are designed more so on more child like models. But environments are large and yet do not have too much a variety of things to look at. It has many attributes that makes it great to look at.
Gameplay: Three modes to choose from. Story, Multiplayer, and survival. Story takes you across many levels of play with plenty of enemies and bosses to keep you busy. Using runes you can give your character different abilities that you will find quite useful as you travel the levels, in which you can find many more runes. A variety of attacks and special abilities are at your disposal. In multiplayer you may choose from several different ways to play from co-op to dragon orb( kind of like tag and defend) as well as versus and one mode that you must try to keep in the ring. In co-op you and up to three other friends must travel through 5 levels and defeat many enemies and bosses that come your way. Or you may want to fight each other in which you can choose to fight other enemies along with your friends if you like. In each mode you gather points with defeating enemies. Survival is hard to say the least. You may breeze through the first couple of levels but you will soon find yourselves stuck trying to beat it.
Sound: There is not much of a variety of music here, and the voice acting is as bad or worse then soap opera's. But the music that is there is good for what the game is, it fits.
Overall: If your looking for a good game to keep you and your friends busy then look no further. Though you may find interest in some other game out there this is worth the buy. The down side to the Gamecube version is that in the PS2 version you have eight instead of four characters to choose form and there is an extra mode of play in which you must fight through waves of enemies. But if you have a Cube then it is still a good game.
So Mystic Heroes is a good Hack'n'Slash that is something fun for all.
